Hey I was wondering if anyone on here has ever replaced a battery under warranty without a receipt. I've heard before that they can just look on the battery for the manufacture date and go from that.

This is the third time my alternators failed and taken the battery along with it. Bought a PA performance one with the upgraded wiring kit, and was gonna see if I could save 117 bucks on the battery. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I used le search.

A battery that got ruined by a bad alternator is not warranty.Even with a receipt.

Well I am not sure about the above but when my battery died in my 09 the dealership replaced it under warranty because it failed in testing. You can always try and see what happens. My alternator is still going strong though...

Haven't had to on Stang, but other batteries took to where I've bought
and they load test, if bad they looked at tag on battery and pro-rated
price on new one. No original sales receipt.

Thanks for the help. I think it should be replaced, even though the alternators what caused it to die. They've both only been in the car for around a year. Just wondering if anyone had personal experience with the issue.

I had mine replaced 4 months ago. I didn't buy the battery but he looked it up and it was under warranty still. The person who owned the car before me bought it.

dealer replaced my battery 3 days before the warranty was up. I dont think it matters what caused it. They just replaced my battery because the volts were too low.

I buy Duralast Gold batteries from Autozone. 3 Year free replacement with no questions asked. I've replaced the battery in my mustang 3 times in as many years. Could be the alternator issues or just the high underhood temps that are cooking them...but I just go get a new one for free...

He has an aftermarket alternator.Hence,no warranty on factory battery.Would be a different story if it was a factory alternator.

No, the alternator has been a factory one until now. I bought the PA performance one to replace along with a new battery. Was seeing if I could get the battery replaced and not have to spend an extra 117 dollars. At the ford dealer right now. Looks like they're gonna do it. Just really ready to not have this damn problem anymore. Like the 3rd time this has happened. Pretty hindering to the mod schedule as one could imagine.

Batteries are about the easiest thing in the world to get replaced under warranty.

This. I work as a manger at a parts store. Sometimes we test them charge them and check to see for any improvement. But if you bitch and ask to talk to a manager then ask for their dm they will bend over and say it is customer satisfaction.

And the Ford ones all have a warranty on them that is different from the cars warranty. I think it is 3 years or something like that? I will look on my battery when I get home as that is where I saw the info.

Just take it in and say the car wont start. Don't mention anything about the alternator or that you replaced it. They will replace it.

Just thought I would update this. I didn't grab a photo but the battery says on it "3 year guarantee" on it. It's one of the Motorcraft "MAX" batteries for whatever that means.

Alright so here's what ended up happening. They couldnt find a record of me purchasing the battery from the ford dealer I got it at in houston, conveniently enough so service said they couldn't do it under warranty. I was so fed up with the problem I just said fuck it and bought a new one. On the way out though one of the guy in parts told me what I should have done was just pulled the battery out and brought it to parts. They would just look at the manufacture date on the side, load test it, and give me a new one. Just a point of reference for everyone else.

I would have just done that myself had I know, but it had been a long ass day with school and work, and this is the third time this alternator bullshit had happened to me, so I gave 0 fucks.

On a positive note, car is running like a champ now. I highly recommend the PA 130 amp alternator to anyone who's still running the stock one. They also make a 200 amp one for anyone with a crazy stereo or a lot of aftermarket electronics. Thanks for all the help guys.
