It was cool. Saw the Blue Angels. Those F18's are bad ass. Got some vids, but they arent that great. Its really cool when they get those jets flying almost vertical @ 100mph right above the tarmac. They had a bi-plane stunt guy too. That man has to be insane to pull the shit he does.

Glad you enjoyed the show!

After sharing the same hangar and airbase with them for three years, I've seen enough of them. Most of the time, it was flying around over the top of them waiting for them to get done with their practice so I could land.

Good recruiting tool, though.

I'm a WSO/RIO/back seater like Goose in Topgun. Used to fly Tomcats, Super Hornets, trained strike fighter students in Sabreliners for three years, got a couple thousand flight hours.

Brady-you coming to the track rental?

Yep, that is the plan.

True, but my quals are up and I can go fly when I want.
The good thing about working at Test and Eval is I can go fly with several different test squadrons in Pax River, CA, etc. The guy "flying the desk" next to me went out to HI and flew for a week doing a test in P-3s testing out new.... uh, stuff.

But to be honest, this is shore duty (even though a year of it was in Iraq) and I like working "bankers hours" with every night and weekend off, and not deploying for 8 to 10 months, or flying nights and weekends and going on Dets for weeks/months at a time. This is the tour where I get back to the family, Mustang, sport bike, and boat, and leave the flight hours to some younger pilots. To be honest, I don't miss it. I've had far more near death experiences flying the Tomcat than driving to work.

You guys know of any good places that work on crotch rockets? My buddy needs his tires replaced and Sunrise is trying to charge him 1 hour labor for each tire (70 bucks and hour).

I take my bike tires to Precision. I order the tires on line, take the old tires and rims off and take them up there and let them swap them out while I wait. Last time I called around, they were the cheapest in town. Cheap, but good work.

My rims are OZ forged aluminum and about $2800 a set new, usually $1500 used, but I found them for $800 after searching for years. They took great care of them, no scratches. They also do powerder coating, heck for what Sunrise wants, you could almost get the wheels powder coated when they swap the tires out.

Last time I did business with Sunrise ten years ago, they wanted $16 for a $7 oil filter. Never went back.

It's nice to see that. A lot of people on this forum talked shit about his abilities to tune a car.

Not really his ability to tune, it was more DTP as a whole business, but my name is just pot-stirrer!! LOL

Greg, sometime when I get back from Dubai, you are going shooting with Ray and I. Other local gun nuts are welcome too!!
