Lets face it, if she doesn't have insurance, and she was driving a 2000 Hyundai shitbox, she probably has nothing.

Currently waiting for a call from my agent. I'm so confused because it still says my deductible is waved, but it isn't or something. Also, apparently metlife gives you a free rental if you're hit by an un-insured motorist.

Ok so here's the story...

Apparently, for mass, if you are less than 50% at fault, and can give the correct information for the person at fault, your deductible is waved.

It has 0 to do with if they are covered or not. So Metlife is going to go after Geico, and since she wasn't covered they will go after the woman personally. If they get nothing from her, they will not come after me.

Found this interesting, and against everything I thought about insurance companies.

Only thing is, I'm up shit creek about the rental. Boo!

That sounds right from my experience. Your insurance company covers you for the damage and they go after whoever they can to get money--whether they get it or not from an uninsured motorist is their problem.

So I brought the subie to the shop to get fixed. The guy said since I have to pay for the rental, he's going to order all the parts now, and told me to drop the car off monday, pick it up tuesday.

Also, he agreed that whoever the insurance guy is that came and did my estimate must have downs. He's looking at it and goes, "You got rear ended right?"

"Yea..."

"Why the hell does he have the FRONT bumper being replaced, and 3 hours of repair on the rear?"

"I'm no expert, but I asked the same question..."

So he goes and looks at the car, comes back in and calls his parts guy. Turns out there were quite a few issues with the adjustment, but I'll leave with 2 new bumpers.

Also, a complete side note, if anybody is contemplating ordering something from AMSoil, I HIGHLY recommend getting your stuff from Greg here. His price to me was cheaper than I could get it online including the preferred re-seller account thing. A+!

Can't wait to see what kind of sweet rental car I get for a day though.

THere's a car show in Danvers today, I plan on being there to meet up with a buddy of mine and hang out for a bit.
I won't have the Mustang since the show is mostly classic cars, but I'll be there with the GF's Fiesta and the GF and her daughter
