seems like I've seen this before...

someone put a lot of work into that. I'm on the fence

I posted photos a while back while they were working on it. I like the front, it works, but the rear isn't right. It needs something where the rear quarter-glass was and the rear lights look stupid, they should have made a new panel for that instead of hacking those lights into factory-style light custers.

Meh, no. Looks like it has a double chin.

Plus it looks very nose heavy, I am on the fence also. If the chin spoiler wasn't there I think it might look a bit better.

A guy from around Knoxville did it the right way IMO. Custom tube chasis, 2004 Mach 1 Powertrain and interior and a 69 Mach 1 body!

I always wonder about these projects, wouldn't it have been easier to simply resto-mod an actual '69 body with all the modern fixin's? Engine, suspension, interior, and accessories can all be brought to modern standards quite easily. You can even buy a brand new '69 fastback body if a solid original couldn't be sourced. Some of the safety stuff would probably be difficult (airbags and the like), but I'd wager the guy building something like this isn't terribly interested in side airbags, etc.

I get the idea of these projects, but no matter how well done (and IMO, this one is well done) they always look a bit "off". If you want a car that looks like a '69 Mustang, start with a '69! Just my opinion...

That said, whomever did build this car did a nice job.

I would rather have a Boss 302 with a all modern stuff in it. Full coyote 5.0 drive train, suspension, and a 05-09 S197 interior because I think it would fit right in a 69 body. I would still rock that retrobuilt though

The boss caliper covers made me lol. It looks odd and at 30k over the sticker of a gt I'd rather have a gt500
