Ok so I made sure the extended harness was plugged in to the ba2800 mafs, tried too do a log aha still no maf counts/volts. I at least figured out how to minimize the errors while trying to log. Tried to log twice and the battery died again, so now i winner if the battery is part of the problem, so I'm getting it tested and charged again. Lito suggested i try to log with another xcal to my windows 7 laptop, so a buddy of mine and also forum member is going to let me borrow his and see if it'll do anything different. I can't believe i forgot i had this but the previous owner bought a diablosport predator to use to tune the kit, comes with the reg performance tune so there's no "turbo tune" in it. Anyways, i read into it and turns out, this thing can datalag on it's own without a laptop, but you need it to save and email logs. So that's my next step, try to get a maf reading with the predator and go from there. I know i need to figure this thing out first but i can't help to think about my next move. I have the upgraded 3.73 gears in my car, which makes fur great acceleration, but turbos like taller gears, so what do you guys think about some 3.31 gears?

Blow through, and that's what GMS provides with the kit, the SCT/ GMS BA2800, when i bought the kit, i read that some ppl were having problems with the maf readings bcs of "noise". So i bought a ba5k just I'm case from a forum member. Back then I didn't know one was the slot style and the old one is a lightning style maf, i thought i was going to just bolt it in. I was expecting to get some readings at least with the old maf, Eric Brooks mentioned that tuned these kits before andadvised me to just leave it all as is and if I had problems then move it. So if the ba2800 doesn't work, I'll just get a vmp slot style maf tube, cut part of my cold side and replace it with the ba5k.

I would just go ahead and do the conversion back to the slot style maf its a superior maf. There's a reason this kit is isn't very popular for the 3v. Good luck with it! Hopefuly you get these last details ironed out soon and get the car up and running!

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I'm thinking I'll do, just go ahead and go slot style and sell the ba2800, I'll test it before i sell it though. Hopefully I'll at least get a reading with the predator. What gears are you running Jeremy? Nice build btw!

Well, I tried the predator last night, still no maf readings. Couldn't sleep again so i searched online for ideas, and I think I found something, I'll confirm when i get home, hope this is it...

Well let us know. I drove out to SA yesterday and met with the builder. Car looks very sad with no powertrain...Heads were getting ported, started last Friday, machining will be finished in time for new cams to go in. Parts are all on order and starting to show up, except a new Flywheel and the Brenspeed Detroit rockers I decided to go with. Last orders tomorrow...Also decided to add an Innovate WB in a vent pod. almost an afterthought...should have everything at the shop before the 15th...I think the LT's are gonna be the last to show up. They go to a ceramic coater early next week.

I need to post a Saleen build thread on the club forum...

That's awesome, looks like we'll both miss the club dinner on the 15th. Start the thread and post pics! Btw, I saw Chris's post on the Saleen forums about max hp, and you mentioned something about NOT shifting into 4th at wot...i cringed when i saw that, lol.

That post refers to not going WOT at lower RPM in fourth and fifth specifically. It is a horrible load on the engines.

As I had no detonation, the failure of the rod was determined to have been previous stress. Running th ecar at the mile probably did not help, and the dyno day I attended for charity the week before probably did not help... But She was sick in some way, as I should have had more power than I had with the setup I was running. I think anything over 400rwhp is a crapshoot. You might go forever, might not get off the dyno...too many variables...

I am going to try and make the dinner in my Twin Turbo AWD DD...Flex ecoboost!

You got a f150 ecoboost? Nice! Yeah, I'm going to run the 6# spring and use my boost controller for a bit more boost.

That was it!! Damn #40 fuse was blown! I couldnt sleep last night, did a bunch of searching online and saw where another member had similar issues and found out that his #40 fuse was blown. Woke up this morning and checked it before leaving to work, it was dark and hard to tell but it looked like it was blown. Checked to make sure after work and it was. It's a 15 amp fuse and I only have 10 and a 20 amp, so to play it safe I used a 10amp. Did a log with just the key on and spun the turbo and sure enough, I have maf counts and volts!
I loaded the config file he sent me and was going to do a running log. No luck in getting the car to run, it only ran for about 10 seconds and it died. Tried a few more times and no luck, no biggie, Lito probably needs to see what's going on with my log and go from there. Moving forward again!

He will probably add a bit more fuel to it, and she will probably start right up. Glad you figured it out!

Well, couldnt wait, decided to try to start my car again today, at first it wouldnt start, but once I unplugged in the maf (ba2800), it started right up, idled good and no weird sounds/smells/smoke. So after i got it running, I decided to get a log, plugged in the maf and didnt change, still running! Got a good 2.5 minute idle log and just sent it to Lito. This was on his second tune where he took some fuel off bcs of the flooding issue I had on first start up. So that explains the low fuel pressure, @25-28. So I shut the car off, started the car back up no problem. Hopefully we can start logging and driving the car soon!
I will say, I'm still running the "hiflow" cats that came stock with the kit, I didn't gut them yet. I checked them before I installed them and you can see daylight out of the other end, so they dont looked clogged. The previous owner had a 18# springs in the wastegate, so it seems like he was running serious hp with the cats. I may delete/gut them later, I wanted to see how the car ran with them on first, since you can't un-gut them, lol.
