In the first video, the first two attempts were burnouts. Rest was taking off at WOT. I dumped the clutch @ 3500 rpm and you can see how it bogs down

In the second video, that was the best launch I have experienced in this car, but you can notice a loss of power shifting 1-2 and 2-3, I was full throttle until I let off, shifting at 6200 each time

Were you swatting a fly on that 2-3 shift? I don't get some drivers, I've rode with guys who shift all limp wristed...firm grip, pull it back, push it forwards...don't direct it from the top like a Nancy. If my hand ever slips off on a 2-3, i will be shopping for a new dash bezel andd radio. Not that thats going to help your issue at hand though.

If you want to make the clutch live for awhile, don't be making anymore videos showing us "what its doing"...be easy on the car, no hard acceleration, or trying to hit any gears to show off for anybody. Just be prepared to end up possibly stranded the more you drive it, and as previously stated...replace everything...continuing to drive the car is not helping out any of your other associated components.

Everybody has there own way to everything, I don't see why you are worried about the way I shift. I can see why you say that if i used every ounce of musle to slam it into gear. I rarely beat on the car, so I can see it lasting for at least 3 months and that should be enough. Problem started 2 months ago, and I wasn't as worried about it then like I am now.

Stkjk, I embed the video but it didn't work with me.

Lmao! All i'm.saying is i've rode with a few guys who have that limp wristed like they're afraid to touch the shifter driving strategy. It's not a pecker, its a shifter...grab it.

I am assuming you are one of those guys that slam the shifter into gears? That's not a good thing BTW

No...shifting firm and quick....is completely different than slamming it into gear. What fdjizm did in his video is what im talking about. Ive been around/racing manual trans cars since '01, and have not ever had a driver induced parts failure. In fact90% of the time, anymore, i even let off the throttle to shift...

Well I haven't been Racing for nothing but a few months so you can call me inexperienced. I shifted like fdjizm at the track.

Very impressive! Stock shifter?
Yea, that was in the stock shifter and 3.31's in that video.
This is the hurst billet short shifter and 4.10's.
Shifting got a little more difficult because it's notchier, the sloppiness of the stock shifter is actually very good for shifting fast, but I still love the hurst

Would it be stupid to wait a few more months and do a gear swap/tru trac rebuild while tranny is out in about 6 months?

Stupid is a matter of opinion and really it's up to you. There really is no reason to wait. The clutch fix and gear/Trutrac swap are totally unrelated and having the tranny out does not make the Trutrac or gear installation any easier or harder. The only way you'll make it that long is to baby the hell out of the clutch.

hey Op

What dos your TAC show on the shifts?
Does it spin up before the BOG ??

and I assume the Tac drops way off during the BOG

Here's the deal guys. There is no clutch slip on shifts. I've driven the car, there is no clutch slip. When you release the clutch launching from a stand still, the rpm just drops down, as if the throttle body closes. To me, it feels like a tune issue. He said the problem was still there with the base SCT tune files and also with the BAMA tune.

The clutch definitely DOES NOT feel like a stock clutch, I seriously doubt that is still the stock clutch with that mileage.

As for not wanting to spin the tires in a burnout, my car does the same thing unless I flat foot it with one foot on the gas and brake at the same time.

JASON09GT, why the actual fuck does it matter how he shifts? This is a tech thread, not a "do I look pretty while playing with my knob" thread.

lmfao :roflmao:

But to be honest here I'm totally with abdulla here. I had the same probelm with my car at the track. Everytime I would try to race it it would bog bad. I had a BBR tune Longtubes and JLT intake and it would always bog. I now have Eric Brooks tuning my car and even on my start up tune I can spin the tires without even trying. Get a new tune/tuner.
