Hi guys, well here's where I stand. I have spent 21 years raising my kids and have not regretted a minute of it. I just recently got back into my beloved Mustangs, purchasing my daughter a 2002 Sonic Blue Mustang V6 Auto. Now the time has come for me to get into my dream car. I have looked into the 2003-2004 Terminator as well as the Mach 1s. After researching and pricing everything the 2010 + 5.0 seem to be the best fit for me. Please share with me my fellow Mustang enthusiasts your thoughts on why a 50 year old like myself would prefer this model. I have no interest in going to the track and don't know very much about building a car. What I am looking for is a great Mustang that has some balls even at my age. When I look at pricing the New edge models seem pretty high for what they have to offer. Most people say that the 2005+ models are a dime a dozen. The fact is I really dont care, I have been driving practical rides for a long time. This car will be garaged
six months a year, I want a six speed, thank you guys.

Welcome. Buy a 5.0 that is the color you want and has the amenities you can afford.

Id go 5.0. But a termi still has that wow factor everytime you see a clean one.
Either one is a solid choice.

RE:

I have been all over the place with what I want to spend. Some of my concern has been the thought of a late mid life crisis after buying the 2002 Stang for the 17 year old daughter. The bottom line is after 9 months of thinking about this purchase, I would like a Mustang again. When looking at the 03-04s "T" I was looking at around 25k for the right car. When looking at 2011+ - 28k seems about right. I will need to finance some of the cost savings will cover the rest. Thanks for the heads up on the 2011 5.0 plus, I did not know this. Thanks for respecting a (noob) some of the sites can be brutal on a novice. Everything about the 5-0s seem right to me.

I'm 47 and love the 2011+ cars. I've had a 2010GT, 2011GT and now the 2012GT. LOL This 2012 will be the last one for a long while as it is the color I like the best and is an automatic. No matter what anyone else might say in this thread the MT82 6 speed manuals in these car are pieces of shit period. Getting a good one is probably a 1 in 100 chance. I miss rowing the gears in the 2011 I had but the constant worry it was gonna break any day just wasn't worth it to me any longer so I traded for the 2012 auto and haven't looked back.

For normal driving the mt82 is nice. For hard driving it sucks.

I'm one in a hundred that have a good mt82. Mine shifts perfect, has had a hurst and Barton bracket since day one. 27k miles over 100 passes on et streets launching around 5500rpms. Half of those passes on a 150 shot. I have already replaced the clutch, and have broken the rear end twice if that says anything on how I've beat on my mt82. However, I do feel with the troubles that everyone else has with them, that that'll be the next thing that's breaks.

Now that's a bunch of bullshit. I've got 40k miles on mine and that's driving it HARD. Maybe the common denominator in all your bad MT82 experiences is YOU.

I'm sure you'll find that a lot more than 1% of M6 owners are happy to have one.

OP, get whatever you like. I would definitely suggest a brand new 5.0 over any used and abused blown V8 car. Drive a bunch of cars before laying down your cash.

Get what you want, have no remorse. Used GT500, 2013 5.0, or a 2013 Boss. Just get the Boss, don't modify it, tell your wife it's an investment you both can enjoy. Sell it in 20 years for alot more than you paid.

Buy a 2011 + 5.0 with auto, unless your knee's are good, then buy a stick.

Don't be spewing your opinions as facts. :asshat:
