Hey guys finally got my Kooks Longtubes installed and did a before/after dyno pulls done the same day. The car was basically stock. Only had a catch can and Borla Atak mufflers installed.

Stock it put down 355hp, after LTs and tune it put down 404hp.

Definately a nice pickup. Would have been neat to see how much the headers themselves were worth.

Check this out dyno pulls from kooks I installed Tuesday cannot believe the power I picked up I could not believe it the real high number had a pulley swap so disregard that one. The other 2 files are straight up kooks gains

50 HP & 25 TQ...just long tubes?

WHY in the hell are my Kook's STILL sitting in the garage floor!
That's FREE HP!

My car goes to the body shop Monday for a small repair.
Should have it back by next Friday.
I see my pipes going on next weekend!

The first pull was only to 6k. The tuned pull was to 6.5k. Should pull easily to 7k. Power was being left on the table on that first pull

Never go by dyno numbers....track comparisons are the ticket.

As we see in this thread there are many variables that are unmentioned. For example, un-tuned car, stock headers, didn't dyno past 6K RPM probably due to a governor.

With the headers and a tune, we see massive gains. Well no shit.

How about a tuned, no headers comparison with a tuned, headers comparison. You will see that gap shrink quite a bit.

Very invalid comparison IMO.

BTW - no tune adjustments needed on the Coyote platforms when making exhaust changes outside of turning the rear o2's off.

Another example of why these types of comparisons on a dyno are useless.

Nice gain! Always nice to see some gains after spending the time and money. Though I admit, I would have thrown an intake on there as well while I was getting it tuned.

Thanks for your opinion but its wrong..the car was tuned with a kb on it for all the runs. There's no governor on the car but thanks, that 6 k pull was on file from a dyno day. The car is mine I know what it pulled. You think I was running a kenne bell with cams with no tune? Really go back to bed.

exactly why I questioned it. The gains were to great for just headers in a N/A car.

Another excellent point many fail to realize. There's no "special" tuning required for the 2011+ cars when installing headers unless you're going to something off road.

Most guys don't have the time or money to do the comparisons. Shops in MN are so busy right now, they would think you were nuts for asking. They want your shit on and tuned and out of the way for the next guy.

In other words, taking a dump on a regular Joe for not spending the money is pointless and not a little mean spirited.

Everything is gonna be alright there buddy take a deep breath and relax
I mentioned the car was stock in the first post and no tune in the third post :)

Guess I should have done more research before hand. Thought it was just the ARH Headers that didn't require a tune. Thanks for the info guys

I just assume if you're modding your 5.0, regardless of the mod for the most part you have to tune it in order to have the car run right and extract the most power from given mod.

When it comes to the coyote a tune is included with whatever mod. You're not going to run around with your car running like crap with no tune.
