Well I've got an update and its not one I'm proud to post, lol.

I've been data logging with live link 6.5 the past few times and I think I should have been using the live link GEN-II. Below is a screen shot of tonight's idle log with the Live Link GEN-II.

Something to point out is now the measured AFR bank 1 and 2 parameters are reading correctly. Now the short and long term for bank 1 is reading 0.000.

Can anyone confirm which data logging software I should be using. 6.5 or GEN-II??

If anyone would like to see the entire log just let me know.

You are logging a lot of pids. Sct logging is horrible. Just try rpm and your fuel trims.

Not super families with the 5.0's I would def unplug the maf though and see how it runs. Even the hrtz reading seems low.

Anybody got any tips on the best way to remove and install front o2 sensors?

Looks like there isn't a whole lot of room to work with and can't see where the harnesses that they un clip from are.

Installed the new front o2's tonight.

Zero improvement. Logs still show no readings from the AFR Bank 1 and 2. Got a new set of factory plugs that I'm going to throw in tomorrow. Will report back if they change anything.

The plot thickens. FML

I know this has already been said, but maybe its time to take it in to a Ford certified technician and let him/her look at it. They will never know that your car was boosted for a short time. They will see it was tuned, but there really isnt anything you can do about that now.

If you have factory plugs in there now and aren't showing any signs of runnng rich/lean/oil seapage/etc, changing them out shouldn't help honestly.

Agree with ya 100%.

If the new plugs don't change anything, I will drop it off at the dealer tomorrow.

At the very least (even for a cost) they should be able to help you identify your problem...and hopefully fix it. Keep us up to date on how things go.

Also let me know how the plug change goes.

Well believe it or not the new set of plugs seems to have fixed the idle issue for now.

I still get a random very very slight miss/studder every 15-20 seconds or so but given the fact that I have a set of Steeda motor mounts I will blame that on them.

I'm also still getting a pretty strong oil/fuel smell after hard pulls.

I will give it a few days before I actually feel confident that the plugs were the issue.

Another update:

Just got back from the dealer.

Told the SA how the car has been idling and running the past couple weeks. After about 30 minutes, she returned to the waiting room and handed me my key. She said I was good to go and everything was fine with my car and the shop foreman couldn't find a single thing wrong with it.

I told here in the most polite tone that I could bare at the moment, that I found that VERY hard to believe. She then told me that I could speak with her service manager.

Spoke to the service manager and he said that he would have to talk to the shop foreman to get me the answer I was looking for. He comes back 20-30 minutes later to tell me this, " the shop foreman noticed during the PCM checks that the o2 sensor readings were inaccurate and that there was a performance tune loaded on your car in the past". Shop fore told the service manager that after he saw the "performance tune" in the PCM history that he stopped the diagnosis. Shop foreman also said that the inaccurate/non functioning o2 readings were in relation to the "performance tune".

I asked the service manager why the foreman didn't proceed with finding out why the car was acting the way it is. He told me that the foreman would have to submit a trouble ticket to Ford and if that was done then it would void my warranty with the tune in the PCM history. The entire conversation I had with him seemed VERY weird. Like he wanted to say something but he couldn't or something of that nature.

I guess the dealer actually did me a favor by not just voiding my warranty and telling me to pound sand

I denied my car ever being tuned. I'm sure that will bite me in the ass down the road somehow or another.

I guess the real question now is why short term bank 1 and long term bank 1 o2 sensors are not reading in my logs.

Anybody know if a certain fuse controls them in any way?

As long as you returned to stock whether it was tuned in the past should not cause an issue.

Anything in black and white I can provide to the dealer that backs that up?

They are saying since it "was" tuned they won't continue warranty work on it.

As of right now it's just my word against their PCM readout showing the car "had" a "performance tune"

And they have every right not to. They are doing what they feel is a favor to you. Their reason that they are giving you though for your issue makes no sense.

So what do I need to tell them then?

I was under the impression if the dealer can prove our cars have had an aftermarket tune in them besides the pro cal tune then they pretty much have us by the balls when it comes to a repair that is power train/ PCM related.

Is this not true?
