Made the first hits tonight and made some progress with it. Air was garbage, 2800' DA and 128 water grains so no big expectations. Suspension is very free compared to the previous stuff, and I'm really glad I put those 30" tires on there or I would never make it through in 3rd gear. Considering the conditions coupled with the 3.31/30" tire I can live with the 1.57 60' right now. Car is pretty much doing what I want in the front, nice pitch rotation due to being quick on the rebound, then keeping the weight on the drive tires with slow compression. Rear needs just a little squat tuned out and I think it will be good too, probably have to make my own lower axle brackets as I don't want to make a very large change. I haven't gotten to the point of playing with tire pressure yet, but it was very solid all night at 22PSI so I will try more the next time. Best was [email protected] so I think real potential for sub 10.50 when the air comes around.

No rubbing. I took the springs off and made sure they didn't rub even with the car bottomed out. Notice the front is really filled too, those are 29".

No transbrake, I do have a button on the steering wheel that has to be pushed along with the brake pedal switch in order for the 2 step to work. Really kind of a quick temporary setup, I need to put a pressure switch in the rear brake circuit to trigger this, then I won't need the button. I guess you saw my hand flying off the wheel, LOL, yeah I spent a lot of years bracket racing cars with transbrakes.

The car looks to be leaving well. Funny about the Trans-brakes question. I got excited thinking the same thing.

I would love to have one in these tranny's.

Took the car to Little River tonight. Made some minor adjustments and the last 4 hits were all 1.51-1.52. Finished with a [email protected], [email protected]. 1432 DA at the end of the night, very good for here this time of year. More people should try the 30x9 radial tire, they are bad ass.

Glad to see you really getting that car dialed in Kris!!

You running the 2step on just a corded switch? I'm installing mine tomorrow and thought about going that route.

That's a huge tire!

Yeah and the brake light switch also. So if both switches aren't closed, no 2 step.

It is a big, fast tire!

Better air tonight, but only 1/8th mile at Little River. 1.50 [email protected] 400DA. Looking at recent performance of this car 1/8th mile ET*1.56=1/4 mile ET, so that should be about a 10.54. Based on that 1/8th mile trap I now have no doubt this car is going to top 129 in the 1/4.

Wow, great pic! Looks a lot like a CJ there.

Thanks, I hear that a lot, I think because it's white and does have the CJ grille and no spoiler. I've got the SHR louvers to install whenever I get to it, should really look like one then.

Looks good.

Were you able to lower the LCA down <2" in the rear? It can definitely be done, just takes some modifying. From the initial video, I would think lowering it "about" and inch would work fairly well.

The only other thing I would do is up the compression on the front struts a little - but I know that may change if and when you drop the LCA down. Seeing the front "fall" down until the force of the car retains it, leads me to believe the odds of unloading the rear tire on a less than stellar surface is much higher.

Looks good!

It's still stock position at the moment. One inch is the number I had in my head also, I think 2 is likely too much. I have a friend who probably wants to buy this rear axle assy, so kind of waiting on that to see where I go next. If he does I'll put a 9" housing in it with all aluminum and lightened parts and save some weight. I can't weld anything on and be legal for stock eliminator so I'll have to make some lower brackets with the smallest amount of drop possible yet still clearing the stock bracketry, or that anti-roll that comes on the CJs and also drops the lowers might be a possibility, I don't think it is much of a drop either.

Yeah, I think that Team Z kit drops the LCA around 1.5"... It has been a while since I have checked.

Are you running the UCA in the stock position? If so, maybe you could simply throw an UCA mount on it with a drop down position, and see what it does for you? Actually, I think that may be a good idea considering the 30" tires out back?

If that is already done - yeah....I definitely would not go lower than 1". More than that, and you are going to be relying on the sidewalls and shocks "too" much. Of course, this is all just guesswork - but dealing with it so often, it gets pretty easy to predict.

If you need any assistance, or rather, want to make some changes....let me know if there are any parts that we make that you could use/modify to make it all work. If you stick with the factory style bracket, and want that 1" drop - you will just need to run a narrower rear LCA end.
