I like the sound of the big red race valves for procharger, though it's kind of late so I can't ask them which do I need at the time. My question is I see that they have two different ones on their site one is listed as open and the other is enclosed, searching I still don't see any documentation stating which to use for my build, or what is the difference between the two also I was told I could save some money by buying the Tial 50mm version and save 100 bucks, is this true? And to get it do I have to move the maf like people who get it do for Paxton's when they covert to blow through, searching I see that the maf for procharger is already set up as blow through correct? What all steps am I missing and once I get it do I have to retune when I install it? I plan to install it myself with my mechanic as a helping hand!

My mods are
Built 302 stroker
Stock cams
Ported heads
P1sc HO kit
11psi

It's a straight swap on any procharger kit. No tune or changes needed, unless you were leaking boost before, then you may need a mild tune adjustment. I'm pretty sure the biggest difference is the "enclosed" one can run a filter to keep debris out, while the "open" is more of an all out track version, and probably just a hair louder. I would run This one if it was me, and keep a filter on it since it's mounted so low in the car. This one will take all of 5 minute to install and should be a fair bit louder then the stock one. http://www.procharger.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=91

I know on some of the turbo specific valves you have to change to a 3lb spring. I don't believe the Tial piece is any higher quality, and it def won't just go right on without welding a flange to the pipe, which is normally no big deal, except most of those things come with aluminum flanges for the piping and yours is steel.

I have the Tial on my Cobra. As mentioned you need a specific spring for super chargers. But if you order the valve new you can specify the spring you need. It works fine for my set up. It's definitely not quiet.

I think the only difference between that and the big red is that the red rquires the weld on mounting tube i think.

The enclosed one has an outlet that can receive a filter to make it quieter if desired and the open is very loud. I run the enclosed with no filter and it is plenty loud enough.

the enclosed one can be piped back into the inlet tubing so you aren't blowing off all your over boost to the atmosphere but actually reusing it so you don't have to build it up again. from what I understand, they tend to be more street friendly

the big red race valve is actually flowing almost twice the cfm of the smaller bypass valve. the bug red is necessary for higher boost applications.

Q. What is the difference between a BOV and a Bypass Valve? How do they work, and are they necessary?

A. A Blow Off Valve (BOV) is a valve that is mounted on the intake pipe after the turbo but before the throttle body. A BOV's purpose is to prevent compressor surge. When the throttle valve is closed, the vacuum generated in the intake manifold acts on the actuator to open the valve, venting boost pressure in order to keep the compressor out of surge. Bypass valves are also referred to as compressor bypass valves, anti-surge valves, or recirculating valves. The bypass valve serves the same function as a BOV, but recirculates the vented air back to the compressor inlet, rather than to the atmosphere as with a BOV.

I used a 50mm ebay special with my D1. It required an adaper to go from the standard procharger fitting to a v band. Made for a very easy install and worked every bit as well as the Mondo I had with a Paxton.

S&H might have a reasonably priced solution for you.
