I love the pissing match, I mean who really cares what you're working on as long as you're happy?

Exactly. This guys a fucking dick bag. I had a auto v6(05) when I was 16. A year after it got totaled I had around 6k saved up and I could:
A) Buy a ratty ass GT for 12k
Or
B) Buy this steal of a car. 11000 for a 30k mileage car with one elderly woman as the owner who kept it garage kept and smelt new.

As you can see, I got the sixxer.
you can always add power, but if your platform has been fucking ruined from the start, why get it?

In fact, I'm looking at a 2010 GT 5 SPD Saturday. I'm going to inspect every inch of the car and call the original owners. If it's got any signs of body stress or abuse, I'm keeping my 4.0 to build another day.

You gained 40 HP from a Bullitt CAI and Tune?

Also ... realize, video, Bullitt and though

:stoptext:

yes. Custom dyno tune. 288 rwhp = 340 at the flywheel. 288 + 19% = 342

... I have a feeling that my modded 6 would have hung with you or even pulled you a little. 288hp and over 3500 lbs vs 240rwhp and 3060 lbs. ;)

What makes the v6 cars that much lighter? Should I sell my car and buy a basic v6 and swap it? Will that make it so I have both the weight and power advantages?

I might swap a 3v into my 6 down the road or go forced induction. Honestly next car I build will be a 64-68 mustang with a 5.0 efi setup with a aod trans.

1. it was a 2000. 94-04s were way lighter. Even the GTs were just over 3250
2. it's missing 25% of the motor
3. 7.5'' rear end vs 8.8''

Mine was a base package with no options other than power windows/locks/mirrors.

Serious? Just to let you know a good friend with the exact same mods as me in an exact same convertible GT runs 13.0's all day. And I beat my good friends 87 Grand national all the time with a te44 thats a sold 13.5 car . So im right there at low 13's..

Here's a list of what it takes to get a 99-04 GT into the 12.4 range followed by the exact times run. I don't think I'm allowed to link to the other forum that this is stickied on, but I'm sure if you google it, it will come up.

Cold Air intake
75mm Upper TB
Upper/Lower control arms (UPR)
Lakewood 90/10 or 70/30's
Strange 10 way rear shocks

4.10's
Off road H or X
Cat Back
Stage II Cams
Springs for Cams
SCT Tune with chip or XCal2
Weld Rims/Tires

60-FT
1/8 ET/MPH
1/4 ET/MPH

1.671
7.900/86.96
12.411/107.76

1.662
7.914/86.74
12.426/107.99

1.659
7.885/86.49
12.420/108.58

Bold were things that transfer easily or are the same with the v6. Cams on a n/a 2v GT are next to useless and you gain maybe 15-20rwhp. For the cost, almost not worth it. So with close to the same power and weighing 200 lbs less, I'd be close to the same time. low 13s is easily achievable with suspension and tires on my old setup.

why are we having a debate on this?

V6 mustang= starter mustang for people who cant afford a V8, spend money to make V6 as fast as a stock V8, look into what they've done and how much money they spent.. realized they could of actually bought V8. Sell V6 and upgrade to the V8

End of day "Pony package" = Pussy package

3060 lbs? That's not with you in it is it? That seems rather light unless you did stuff to lighten it up. My 84 SVO weighted 3160 with me in it and I weighted 160 and the time.

It's cool but I get shit on a daily basis for it and it gets old. The only "mod" done to my car is a rear seat delete... Which obviously doesn't do anything. lol Not only that but I wanted to start in an underpowered car to force myself to learn proper driving techniques. I can drive better than the average manual driver. There's a kid I know who bought a new SS and got so upset that he swapped his manual for an auto because he couldn't drive. And still can't. LOL

I totally agree with you with modded V6's. It's similar to buying a civic and putting bolt ons on and kids think they are hot shit. If my 4.0 is kept my "mods" will be a swap. But cosmetic mods are perfectly fine. Some of us don't need 300HP to enjoy a car. I didn't, but now I feel iv mastered it and I'm ready to progress.

No, not with me in it. That's the stock curb weight. Quoted the stock curb weight for an s197 gt as well.

exactly. And the foxes are lighter then the new edge cars. I guarantee the 2000 v6 Mustang weighs at least 3200-3300 w/o a driver.
