Agent 47 Brake Ducts

I used the Quantum pieces behind the front fascia and then "Dremeled" out the honeycombs to let the air through.

That's what I'm thinking - use the Quantum brake cooling duct pieces behond the OEM fascia as prepared by the OP. Seems like a good cost effective, functional and professional looking install.

I bought the QMS setup as well, install was a breeze, if u have a dremel. The finished look as stated b4 is very low key and the bezels are very stout. Black powder coat metal with all stainless nuts and bolts. Highly recomended. I would dump the A47 unit and buy the bezelz for 75 bucks from QMS. Good Luck.

Hmm, Im not really sure if this is just a road corse mod, or if all mustangs will get any good out of this. This has got me thinking of all sorts of ways to mount funtional foglights tho and get rid of the stock upper fogs and grille. Thanks, subscribing!

Is there any other cheap way to do this? I have the GT500 lower bumper which i will drill out.

What else besides the ducting would i need?

The key part is the braket that replaces the rear backing plate. It has to be properly designed to be strong enough and the get the air in the correct place.

Pretty much....besides the bracket the agent 47 kit has some pretty durable ducting hose. This isn't your mom's dryer vent stuff, looks like it could handle a fair amount of heat and physical abuse. It also comes with plastic ports which connect to their special grill.

I'll open up the honey comb part as seen in this thread, I just don't know exactly how I will attach the plastic ports to the grill. A cheap and ugly way would be wire or zip ties, but I'm thinking maybe of fibreglassing them in place although that would be a first for me.

Drill tiny pilot holes through the ports and the factory lower grill/lower bumper and use stainless steel studs with locking bolts. this will sandwich all three together creating a very strudy mounting.

I read on American Muscle the Agent 47 lower grille is now Discontinued, so you may want to pick one up soon to work with your Agent 47 cooling ducts if it turns out you can't modify the OEM lower grille to work with them. Good luck.

I've seen these kits as cheap as $150 on ebay, a bolt on if you have the GT500 Brembo's brakes to go along with the bumper cover.

Accordig to the installation instructions the GT500 fascia already has the provisions for the duct work to attach to. Just drill a couple of holes from the back side and your ready to go.

JLT has a real reasonable bezel and also have full kits as well, for GT and GT500's

I tried putting the Quantum pieces behind the lower grill and they wouldn't fit with the factory mounting tabs for the lower grill. If you put the quantum ieces behind the grill, the grill won't go back far enough for the mounting tabs to engage.

I just bought an 07 GT/CS. The Agent 47 kit looks like it will work well with my front bumper. Can anyone confirm this??

Given the GT/CS bumper, I highly recommend the A47 pieces. Super thick and high quality. My only beef is that it takes an intervention from Gbus to get the hose on; trying to do this between track sessions is a recipe for frustration-induced vomiting. FWIW I have the hi-temp stuff from RacerPartsWholesale.

The A47 guys are great to deal with and even sold me the inlets and one point and the spindle outlets separately. That's a top-notch product too.

I popped off the bumper inlet pieces... didnt know I'd have to put holes in the bumper as well, No biggie.

This seems like the only kit that is "plug and play" for the CS bumper.

If you decide to return to stock at some point, the OE grill pieces will cover the holes IIRC.

I had 3.73's in my 00GT, which I liked,
Is 3.73 a good gear for that car? Are 3.55's a little on the low side??

How soon would you make a change?

I ran two events at CMP and two at VIR with the stock 3.31. I added 3.73s and a T2R this offseason and should have more objective feedback after a couple of events. The car is FAR improved with the 3.73; I wouldn't go as low as 3.55.

Based on the comments I've seen over the 2.5 years I've owned the car, the consensus seems to be that the 3.73 is the go-to gear for roadracing.
