I wasn't home when the inspector came by. The inspector will report to the adjuster (who is in Tampa) who will then get back with me. Nothing like trying to negotiate with somebody who hasn't even seen the car. Still hoping it will go smoothly.

Missed the news. Sorry to read about it. Good luck with it all.

Surprised to see the passenger airbag deployed, thought the new cars had a sensor fr that, like others have said, negotiate and don't take the first offer of settlement.

874 rwhp and 800 rwtq ! Yikes..that's a bunch..and then some.

Perhaps for street use, something like a Nitto NT-555DR in a 305-40-18 on 10" rims might do the trick ? They would last quire a while, not too expensive, and still useable in the rain. You don't want too much stagger though.... or the car will tend to under steer.

275-40-18 Nitto 555's on 10" rims..on the front... (or 285-40-18)..with Nitto NT-555DR's in 305-40-18 on the rears, also on 10" rims, just might be an optimum setup. Then only 30 /20 mm stagger.

But this is just pure conjecture and speculation on my part.

Even with BMR LCA relocate brackets installed....(and using middle holes)
and 305 rears.... you could still have issues if globs of TQ involved..and 3.73 or 3.90 or 4.10 gears used....esp with unknown road conditions.

Big power on street tires is smokesville no matter what kind they are.

Too many people in the chain of command. I spoke with the guy who inspected my car this morning (he's not the adjuster, just the inspector) and found out they came up with just over $21K for my car. That's all well and good but the important number will be the buy back number. It is totaled so I may start picking on some small parts this afternoon.

5k or less. Remember you're not buying back your mods, just the stock car. Unless you had coverage for the mods!
I do, I have 5k in coverage specifically for the mods. Most people don't want to pay the extra premium though.
From what I could see right side sheet metal, door glass, rear window, (stock) running gear. These are items that should makeup the buy back price, because that is all that is really salvageable.

That tire looks so weird, they added two more threaded rows to the normal design to cover the huge width, haven't seen that before.

Those are the most worthless tires IMO. They have a ton of rubber, but they perform terribly.

Look at the gap in the tread pattern! You could drive a Hyundai down through the tread gap in those things. Looks like 20% of the potential contact patch is just air.

Too close of a tread pattern and they would be useless in the wet.

Yes, I'm sure there is a balance between having nice big rigid blocks of rubber and still have room for water without adding too much noise to the mix.

They aren't even making this size anymore so next up will probably be 888's anyway.
Meanwhile, it is what it is....

I've begun pulling trim and accessories and started the first of three part out threads. I'm making three threads for the part out. One for accessories and trim, one for drive train and one for mechanical and suspension. Hopefully this will make it easier for others as well as myself keeping track of everything.

Still waiting on numbers from the insurance company so I am not comfortable throwing the car up on jack stands yet and stripping mechanical stuff. I've begun prepping the engine for removal.

From pictures doesnt look unfixable. Not sure why they told you it could never be registered. If fixed you have it inspected and they give you a rebuilt title. I would think you might be able to sell it as a whole and do better then parting it out Ive bought a few and refurbed them

Are you dead set on not fixing it? You could probably still come out with money in the bank and your car if buy it back and fix it (I think).

Are you just gonna return to stock and let them have, if the buy back number is to high?

I'm dead set on not fixing it. If the buy back is too high then it may get ugly. As a couple people have said I don't have to accept their first offer.

Holy shit Brian i just saw this. I'm glad ur ok. We have all done stupid things...move on. It sucks because of how much time and effort u have in this. Not to beat a dead horse but to everyone else...IMO...If you have 600hp or over to the tire u need to be on a drag radial and even still there are no guarantees. My car was an absolute death trap on fucking wheels with street tires on it. Glad ur ok and hope the vultures don't pick u to death.
