Wow, this turned ugly. The speeding ticket was 6 weeks ago on a 6 lane highway about 8pm on a Sunday evening. I took off from a light at the front of the line and wound it out through the first 3 gears. When I hit the top of third there still was nobody in front of me for half a mile.

As far as the accident, I already said it was my own fault. Again, absolutely no traffic or pedestrians (I don't fuck around when other cars or people are around) and I punched it from about 45mph to light up the tires. The car jumped sideways and before I could recover I was over the curb and sliding through the grass. Nobody to blame but myself. I'm not used to 640hp and probably have no business driving something that fast. This is my first at-fault accident in 33 years and I deserve to pay for it. This is why I have absolutely no plans of buying another hot rod. I'll readdress the situation in a year or two after I've paid my dues for my errors in judgement.
Brian ...

Seriously I hope in the end of this with Law-Enforcement & your Ins. company all ends up OK with you as time goes by.

I have personally been way over 90 MPH on the interstate and with traffic.

Just luckily nothing bad happened.

Hang in there Big-Guy !!!

Terry

BTW,

We just got back from NC for the 50th so just now saw your post.

Waiting to hear back from them today. At this point it doesn't matter much as I'm about done parting it out. Regardless, I'm hoping they simply come back with a counter offer somewhere in the middle and I'll gladly accept it. Been a long week and a half and I'm ready for this to be over.

It's ok, been a little down but it might be this nasty cold. I shipped out about $300 worth of packages today and sent out UPS tracking numbers to the recipients. The numbers will be activated once the packages get picked up and processed at the distribution center later this evening.

Insurance guy is still ignoring me and not returning my calls.

harrassment is the best policy on that. When my car got hit I was so far up the other guys insurance agents ass it wasn't funny. Just remember, YOU pay that monthly fee for a reason. It's to be taken care of when the shit hits the fan. You have every right to do whatever it takes (legally I mean, let's not get crazy) to make it happen.

Yeah, cause harassing the only person that can help you is going to make him want to do everything he can to help you... not.

As an adjuster I can and will tell you patience is a virtue that can and most of the time will be rewarded.

Skwerl, hang in their brother, Mondays and Tuesdays are rough days in claims, and vehicles accruing storage fees unfortunately take precedence over a value dispute.

I'm glad it seems to be working out for you.

You hear that skwerl, go rent a storage for the car, charge it to the insurance, and they will get to you faster. Haha

My 2011 cost the insurance over $2k in storage by Ford Dealer once they settled
I was happy they had to fork over more money after fighting with me over the value of my car and not paying me even close to what it was worth.

Still disagree. I am not sure my car would even be fixed almost a year later if it weren't for me being on it. I know I would have never got a rental car either. Bad enough having to have friends and relatives drive me to work for over a weel while they "waited to hear from their customer". Even though their customer called them the day it happened right in front of me and told them it was his fault and they put me on the line to confirm. Went through 4 different "teams" that I had to keep track of just to know who to talk to.

After 3 weeks of waiting to hear what they were going to do, I just bought all the parts myself to get my car fixed and made them write me a check for the cost after I emailed them the receipts. How the fuck do you not know what you are going to do? Your customer told you he jacked my car up. I had it towed (at my expense, to this day) to a shop. I got your fax number and they faxed you a detailed report with pictures of what was broke and the cost to fix it. Why does it take you almost 2 months to decide what you knew from day 1? Why even be an insurance company if that is how you are going to treat people.

Because insurance companies make their money by collecting checks, not by writing checks. The longer they put off writing you a check, the better their numbers look.

sorry, it just angers me when people are dishonest or put money and profits before the lives of the others they affect. It was more of a rant at insurance than a response to ssps....lol

If you will excuse me, I am just going to go to bed, win the lottery and own a mustang of every generation with a big garage to put them in. I will wake up and they will all be gone but, I am going to have fun.

Your story is why subrogation is the best route imo. Your insurance company fixes your car and you pay the deductible. Your insurance company also collects from the other insurance company and pays your deductible back to you when they get paid.

Amen. Last time I was fighting for money, I just waited them out. By about the 4 month mark they were begging me to accept a settlement just so they could clear it off of their desk. Settlement went from the insulting $2600 initial offer to the fair $5600 that I finally got.
