Any 05-10 owners wanting a cheap brake upgrade

Got mine on along with the boss 302 lines and they're great. As it's a DD I threw on Duralast Gold CMax pads on and they bite better than the OEM setup.

I used them for my last set. Dirt cheap, solid pad, and available at your local AutoZone. I felt like they produced more dust than OEM, but otherwise a solid pad. I did have one with a very shallow crack when I changed them, but I also didn't seat them properly and had to slam on the brakes hard the day after I put them in, so there's no telling if it was defective or if I was just a forgetful moron.

I went with a ceramic powerstop brand from rockauto. $37 for the front set they've been great so far and low dust

Really stupid question in bound, but after doing this upgrade from 12.5" to 13.3" rotors, why can't I put the old rotors and calipers to the rear? Since they're pretty small back there. It'd fill the wheelwell nicely. Are they not compatible due to the e-brake etc? I'm probably way off base here.

Yeah, definitely the e-brake and I'm not sure if they would bolt up correctly.

I think you have to have at least 18"

This has been asked in other threads of this same persuasion. I am not sure but here is a way to check. Measure the clearance distance between your rim and the caliper, and if that number is less than .4" you should be good to go.

got my calipers yesterday. Fast shipping! Just need some rotors, brake lines, and pads to finish off the rebuild. What pads to you guys recommend? Ive heard mixed reviews about Hawk pads.

Stoptech Street Performance

I did this upgrade with Stoptech Street Performance pads and did some very unscientific tests. Stopping distance from 60 mph with stock rotors and pads, then larger rotors with stock pads and finally larger rotors and Stoptechs. Did about 10 - 12 stops for each set up. Used my data logger and math to calculate the stopping distance. Average stopping distance improvement was was about 10-15 ft for larger rotor with stock pads and about 20-30 ft for larger rotors and Stoptechs.

Im thinking im might snag those slotted rotors they are selling and just use my hawk pads. around the same price. I dont get the big rotor, but it still is a great product

They pop up every so often but don't last a long time, prob won't be available for a lot longer with the '15 on the horizon, unless the '15 will have the same brake setup

Homies, I have all my parts from Roush, just need to buy the front pads. I found em from Tousley, but i am an impatient person. Are these correct? IDK WTF the organic is. Should be correct?

I used the Autozone Duralast C-Max pads and they're fine by me. I've heard that other than that, the OEM pads are fine that you're looking at.
