I got an old 2005 Mustang GT that I've modified over the years that's still running good with 63,000 miles on it.

I was wondering if this is a good time to sell it while it's still running good.

Who know what'll break in the future.

What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think the car will get to 100K+ w/o something really expensive breaking.

Already broke the transmission many miles ago so hopefully that won't break again.

What do you think a modified 05 GT would sell for?

You will make the most money returning it to stock. I demodded my 06 with 31k miles and got 14k cash. It appears others are getting 13-15k for theirs just depending on where they are located.

I can't believe quicksilver got $13,600. I have seen similar 05's in my area go for as low as 10K.

My buddy just sold his 2007 GTCS with 52K miles in mint shape with hot rod cams full exhausts and other bolt ons to a used car dealership for $13500. I thought that was pretty good since they need to turn around and resell at higher price. And that was not a trade for another car. He went there with it, they cut him a check and that was it.

Why people think 100k miles on a vehicle is too much is beyond me...

I'm over 100k, no real issues that racing didn't cause. The motor is still a virgin and very strong.

Yah I started at 16k about 3 months ago, and slowly started lowering the asking price. Jumped at the first person with cash that offered over 13k

Price can also vary alot depending on location, and also if its private party or dealer. 05-07's seem to go for $14-17k here depending on miles, etc.

I picked up my 05 premium with a ton of suspension mods and 20k miles for $12k, which was a really good deal for me.

I think part of the 100K issue is that banks won't grant loans on vehicles with over 100K so people have to pay cash or get a personal loan.

Its the age of the vehicle mostly. Auto loan for a car over 10yrs old won't happen for the bigger banks. Credit unions might work with you. Or like you said take a personal loan usually with higher interest rates.

I wish I could keep a car to 30k miles let alone 100k.

I am also confused how newer car owners think that at 100K the whole car is going to somehow self-implode. Call me jaded because most of my life I've only been able to afford 20+ year old fox bodies and GM products with 150K+ miles, but at 50K miles, I feel my 06 GT is just BARELY getting broke in.....not a spot of rust on mine, bushings all appear factory new........so its new TO ME. You can have your $500 a month car payment for the latest greatest fancy shamncy mustang.....

My vote is to pay that bitch off (if you haven't already) and enjoy no payments...
