Thinking of buying a 2005 Mustang GT for my son to replace his 2012 Camaro LS. We both had Camaros but I traded mine in and now he wants a Mustang and to move up to a V8. The Mustang seems to be in awesome shape in and out and has only 46k miles on it. The only mods are headers, full stainless x-pipe exhaust, and custom wheels. Runs like new but needs a new IMRC valve. What do you Mustang guys think of this model year. Anything to look out for other than the normal stuff. Pulled a Zilocar and carfax report and everything looks good.

Looks like it's in really nice shape. Clearly the PO has put a lot of love into it as well as a Hurst short throw shifter. If it also drives great, I'd say make the guy an offer.

A friend of mine bought a lime 05 when they first came out. That was his baby. He had to pay a premium and no discount but his was less that that but we are in Michigan.

We went down to Chicago Auto Show in February of 05. We talked with a dealer there and he offered $500 under sticker for an ordered GT. We are on southside of Chicago, he was from northwest side.
Next day I went to local dealer and said if he matched the offer, I would order that day. At first he wasn’t going to do it, and I started to walk out. He then agreed and we ordered the car. At the time, they had a new GT sitting on showroom floor at $3K over sticker
So the car was ordered on my wife’s birthday in February, and it arrived from factory on my birthday in late March. With taxes and fees, it was just over $30K out the door.

Brother YM; I can tell ya my thoughts. Because of the retro styling I think these look awesome and are more of a timeless style. A chevy dealership had one out front in their used cars. I stopped to buy it and they would not sell it to me. Said they just got it. Wanted to mislead people that they were trading them in on a bow tie. Ford spent millions on design of rear view so chevy guys would like em too.. A Yay for me

I have always been a "Ford" and "Mustang Guy"... there was a time I was a "Pontiac Guy" 1980 Trans Am and 1986 Fiero S/E 2M6, but I have never owned a Chevy Camaro. Don't get me wrong... I like them, actually I like all cars (just like women), but for me Pontiac made a better looking, faster and superior handling & braking car. My personal preference...

Get under it and look for rust; especially floor boards, rear quarters just in front of the wheel wells, in the trunk (behind both wheel wells) and under the carpets if you can. Otherwise, that example looks very clean. If she checks out your call.

Brother JC, You could say that the closing of Pontiac and discontinued Camaro ran GM into bankruptcy. 07 I believe

The last model year was 2009. I currently own and drive two Pontiacs, '76 firebird and an '09 turbo solstice.
