Driving style can also favor a tire.
I can agree with this too.
The only reason I have been on all season up until this point (other than lack of track set of wheels), is I can keep up with most people running the "high-end" summers. Maybe not someone on Rivals, R888, A6's, etc, but the guys on the RE-11, Hankook's, etc. haven't been too far ahead of me (in some cases actually BEHIND me) when I run Potenza Pole Positions RE960AS. I went with those because we put an earlier version on my dad's IROC-Z. We loved them so much on that (probably only tire that handles that car in the wet without a short tread life), and I was never disappointed with them on the Mustang.
The local guys would kinda laugh when they saw what tires I was running, and how well I was doing compared to others. They came to the assumption that I must be able to drive the shit out of hard compounds (not very hard obviously as noticed with my current set of DDs).
The Hankook Noble2's that I have now are terrible on the track, not bad for DD though. Now that I have the wheels, I just need tires, and I was hoping on the Rival's. I guess I'll plan for the RE-11's, and see how they will do. On any car I have driven on the track, I've felt the most comfortable with the Bridgestone's (RE-11, Pole Position Potenza A/S, Potenza GRID A/S, etc.) anyways, so I am hoping the RE-11's won't be THAT bad vs. the Rivals.
