As you can see in my sig my current best is a 7.6. 7.7's though is what it runs 95% of the time. So with that said what can I hope for once the torque converter goes in? I'm guessing 7.4-7.5 maybe a 7.3 if I'm really lucky.
which TC do you have?
Leo... my guess is that you'll cut .10 - .15 off the 60-ft, so maybe 2/10's of your 1/8. That would likely mean 7.5s, with the occasional 7.4.

don... i was going to ask the same thing about mine. couple questions- should i go with a 3200 or 3400 stall on the PI? should i expect about a 4 tenths decrease in my 1/4 mile time? i can't decide on the stall and wanted to hear it from someone with experience

Mine went 11.73 (deep staged) with the stock converter and 11.15 (again, deep staged) with the PI converter. I ordered a 3000 rpm stall on the foot brake but all I can get out of the converter is 2500 rpm.

While I ran the car last year on the stock engine and it did quite well I would really suggest putting a good shortblock together before adding a turbo. I'm still not quite sure what has transpired since the demise of my original engine (gee, thanks son) but something is obviously not quite right. Three engines in less than five months is not a good deal.exactly why i plan on going the turbo route once i start a motor build fund!

As long as everything is right and tuned accordingly you can run a stock engine with quite a bit of power. However, let just one single thing slip by and you've got scrap aluminum on your hands.
Back on topic.....I'd go 3400 rpm stall speed.
right after the 3400 stall goes in
leo i think you will see bigger than a 2 or 3 tenth gain in QUARTER mile times. Don stated you should gain a couple tenths in the 1/8th and everyone else started saying how much they gained in the 1/4. either way, expect a big improvement for what it's worth! i can't wait!
