Hey guys I did a cobra jet on my 5.0 and raised the limiter to 7500. Started doing pulls and found my car doesn't really like shifting at 7k let alone 7500 it just locks me out completely. So after 30K its time for a clutch upgrade. My mods are in my sig and I plan to stay N/A. Was looking at the Exedy mach 600 clutch kit because it comes with the throwout/slave and the alignment tool. Im wanting a nice clutch to do high RPM shifts but I dont want to sacrifice drivability. So I ask what clutches do you guys run in your cars and how do you like them?

Hey Bad,

I would have to agree with your choice on this one.

I am currently running the stock clutch on my 2014 Track Pack (8k miles) but I ran the Exedy Mach 600 Stage 4 Clutch on my previous N/A 2012 5.0 and loved it.

I spun that car pretty high and had no issues.

I would also recommend replacing the clutch line with the SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line while you're in there. It will help a ton!

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for the info! Good to hear from somebody that actually ran it. I did have one question, the reviews I read for it on AMs website says that the pressure plate only uses 6 of the OEMs 9 bolts on the flywheel. Is that true and is that an issue? Did you install your clutch? I also was thinking about doing a braided clutch line like you said. Thanks again!

I have the same lock out issue as well since the CJ conversion. Like AM said, do the line as well since you will be under the car. I added the clutch line when I did the headers. I am looking at the McLeod RST or the Exedy Mach 500. I would also recommend getting off the BAMA tune and get someone else CJ setup...

I have the spec 3 and hate it.. pedal is stiff and the release point is pretty low off the floor.. another thin is it chatters ND is an on/off clutch.. very hard to slip and it grabs very hard.. I did not change the slave/ throw out and it's giving me issues now engaging after about a year. So I am also just going to do the exedy Mach 600 kit . I want a mcleod but it's over kill for me and i have heard good things about them. also spoke directly to the mcleod rep at the am show and he said it will not fix or remedy the high rpm lockout issue.. so to me a single disc with a flywheel and install is the price alone for just the mcleod and the flywheel..
