Hey how's it going everyone, I have been a long time reader of the forums and learning everything I can about the new 5.0. Well the stars finally alligned and I found an amazing 1 owner 2011 GT manual transmission, silver with twin black stripes from front to back. I instantly fell in love with it, got the wife's approval (very reluctantly), got a check from the bank and drove 100 miles handed them my keys and took it home! Huge upgrade from my 2008 hhr ss, was a fun little 4cyl turbo but this 5.0 is simply on a whole other level.

I plan on keeping it stock until it's paid off, maybe exhaust but that would be it. Gonna be a daily driver and a weekend warrior when I have time at the 1/4 mile track. Can't wait to make a lot of memories at the track and other events with friends and my kids. Car seat is already in the back and my 2 year old loves the 5.0! My 11 year old is already asking when we can do headers, exhaust, supercharger and dyno tune lol

so thanks to everyone who shared their experience both good and bad with this car and look forward to being a mustang owner.
Jason

edit**** adding pics to top of thread as it makes more sense

Yeah, I doubt it'll stay stock that long. The first week or two of ownership, it's like "holy shit! This thing rips stock! I don't need to fuck with any mods!". After the first couple weeks, you start randomly popping your hood to make sure the other 4 cylinders haven't fallen off. Buuuuut until that time comes, enjoy jumping at the chance to drive it whenever you can, and the school girl giddies as you squeeze the go pedal down. One day you will have a blower, and 600-700rw, and wonder how the hell people actually drive them stock. Maybe you shoulda kept the hhr lol.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys! I came from heavily modded imports prior to downgrading to the HHR (which i modded lol) and then like i said the stars aligned and i snatched this up faster than a fat kid chasing the last Twinkies on earth! So I know the Mod bug will hit hard and I do have future plans, but the deal with the wife was no mods till its paid off and i should clarify that will be summer of 2017, so not too far away :)

I am working on uploading pictures, despite being on many forums over the years the hyperlink thing always throws me off! It is Ignot Silver with Twin Black stripes from front to back, not sure if I will keep the stripes I'm on the fence, maybe some black wheels and black spoiler to set it off.

I have been lurking on this forum for over a year gathering information and tips from you guys, it really paid off when finding this car!

I finally remembered how to retrieve my pics I took and they have been added to original post, she still needs a good full detail and wax to be up to my typical standards but i am very impressed with how great of condition its in mechanically and visually. The previous owner used it as a cruiser, got in touch with him and he traded this in for a 2015 GT. got a paycheck coming Wednesday for some much needed gas money to really start having some fun!

Thanks again to everyone for posting about their experiences with the 5.0 as it really helped solidify my decision to get one!

^^^ You don't want a black car...unless you just really love to detail! By comparison, silver is easy to keep clean and doesn't show dirt that much.

Congrats on the new ride, welcome to the forum, and good luck "not modding" your car!

Yeah I think I like the idea of a black car more than the practicality of it! I definitely love everything about this car it has all but the brembo brakes other than that has everything I wanted!

I know it will be a struggle to not mod it! but that's the deal i made with the wife to get it, so 2 years doesn't seem so long when i waited so long just to own one! I definitely have future plans though when its paid off. A buddy of mine has a Muffler delete system he is willing to let me throw on, so that would be ok as it wont cost anything lol

Welcome!

BTW... Window tint and bolt on's (Rims, exhaust ETC.) are not mods. They are cosmetic improvements...

I have been married 21+ years. Can you tell!
