I think it is going to be totaled. No one was hurt which is the good news. I have had this car for three years and have put a lot of hard work and money into the car. It is a 2007 with only 15,000 miles. I have about $10,000 in upgrades. I was going to sell the car to my nephew. He took the car home for the weekend and was driving this morning when a lady in a mini van was not paying attention...

definitely a total loss.. you'd have to replace both quarterpanels, trunk lid, trunk floor panel, both rear frame sections, exhaust, EVAP related stuff by the look of it, and possibly some of the roof components :(

Sorry to see this. Any chance the cop checked to see if soccer mom was texting when she rear ended the car? Just curious.

My nephew is a police officer. I asked him the same question. They can't without a court order.

I'd personally feel safer driving next to someone tipping a 40 ouncer back than being next to some text zombie who is hypnotized by his/her cell phone. Either scenario is wrong, but given the forced choice I'd take the former over the latter. No I don't drink either. Nor do I text and drive.

Dang, that's a shame! I hate to see this happen to anyone, especially someone who has put a lot of time and money customizing their car.

Time for the S550 upgrade! :thumb:

This is what $9,890 in damage looks like on a 2009 GT500. Fenders needed blended, but no actual damage.

Your car needs new quarter panels and probably a new trunk floor. I'd think that could hit 15-20K if repaired correctly and the resale value of the vehicle won't be enough to keep the insurance company from totalling it.

WOW! That's 10K? Holy labor rates. Is there quarter panel damage that isn't visible in the photo?

Body shop estimate is $23K, it is totaled. Now the fight with the insurance company.

Yeah definitely part it out. This is why I'm thinking of changing my car to Grundy or Hagerty. My car is not a daily driver and normal insurance companies will never pay more than current market value which is pretty low of the 05-09 s197s right now.

Mine was not a daily driver either. I have it insured with Grundy at a state value. The issue is the lady that hit the car is insured by Allstate. We will see how it works out.

1) Pull as many mods as you can (items that can be resold).
2) Contact your insurance company to negotiate with her insurance company. You have the coverage regardless, Grundy and Allstate can argue over who pays how much.

I totaled my '09 Bullitt two and a half years ago. I had close to $75K dumped into that car. I ended up buying it back from the insurance company and I parted it out. But it never left my possession, I had it towed to my house and pushed it into the garage long before the insurance company adjuster contacted me.

Bumper, taillight panel, trunk, wing, taillights, interior trunk pieces, slight bodywork for ripple in passenger rear quarter panel, frame time to align gap on driver's side door due to 2mm chassis flex. It was all done at the expense of the insurance company for the guy who hit me so no concern on my end as to what the total cost was.

Before

After - Still had to reapply the Shelby and install the side skirts
