I hate to interupt Marks thread but....(im going to) lol

Going off of what Don is talking about Its funny how I hear about how f'd up the other forums are, and when I got started it was here. I have done my complete build listening and asking questions here. I talk to my friends and talk about so many of your cars and you would think I have met you all as I mention your real names instead of user names. I have previously signed up on a couple other forums but never stuck around. This will be my hangout as long as I am a mustang owner. It seems to have grown alot since I have became a member and All that I can say is that this forum rocks!

Thats it, sorry Mark. Car is comeing along bad ass, keep the pics comeing.

Says who? I'll take quality over quantity any day.

Agreed…quality is paramount.

However, I believe quality and quantity would present a victory for all members. As you mention, and I agree, the vision of this site is to be distinguished from others – the best technical site for S197’s. To accomplish that the formula would be to convert the quantity to quality.

As long as the newbs don't fuck up the forum, they are welcome. If they start to think this is mustangforums and post stupid shit, the veterans here will eat them alive.

Remember, this site was started because of how poor the others were. We don't want to be like them. Period.

Again, agreed, but let's discern the people who F up the forum from the uneducated trying to learn and take something away from the forum…Nothing wrong with the veterans eating the stupid posters alive, but hopefully they continue to create value for some newbie’s too.

I just admired CK anaylical process in the post…made sense to me.

By the way CK..nice build. Looking forward to the results. From Vortec to Powerhouse to Whipple TS to twin 67’s with A/W. Your experience alone could save a newb 3 combo’s. That is a lot of $$. Should be fast, fun and extremely special !!!

In Don's defense, you have no idea how fucked up that place was back then for S197 owners.

All I can say is this is a great forum to learn stuff...:beerchug2:

Correction...

Amen brother! I started out on AFM and am still a member there and like it. Both have good info but I have noticed that when I get on here most of the people are in the Tech section whereas over on AFM most of the people are usually in the Talk section. Like I said, both are good, IMO but they each have a different flavor and serve there purpose. Now back to the build.....

I have really enjoyed reading this post from beginning to current.........like 14 pages or something. I have no aspirations to do anything like what some of you guys are doing (I might go FI down the road but likely just a CAI and tune for now) but my hat is off to you all :hi: . I am learning a lot here!

All I'm saying is that the vast majority of new owners type the words 'mustang forums' in google when they first start looking for a place to go and that is the first place that comes up so it is the starting part for a lot of people (including most of us)

You know where I stand as well, but I'm just saying that just due to logistics, a lot of our new members are going to come from there and maybe we can be a just a little more 'delicate' in welcoming them, no?

For gods sake, if Hawg and Wheeler aren't going to scare newbies off... we need balance man!....lol:LMAO:

All I'm saying...:beerchug2:

i agree, i spent alot of time over there...its a good place for wanting to know about turn signals and shorty antennas.just like mark said, i typed in "mustang forums" when i got my 2007 GT. I always come here for the meat and potatos, i have learned alot more over here about more serious performance.i appreciate everyone over here...even SD.LOL.

every day i am amazed by what i see on these forums, almost everyone is either turbo or s/c. I wish i would have spent more time over here before i did my turbo set up, probably would have helped me out alot.

Looking good Mark, but I can't believe that you haven't painted your timing cover with all the detail work you've done everywhere else.

I'm going to be running extreme drag radial class next season. SD helped me get this motor from Dan Saitz...

http://www.upcrowd.com/viewpage.asp?PageID=354601638402277

I will be running twin 88's and going with a 25.5 and a ladder bar. My goal is for the car to be a consistent 7.70 car - I should do very well in the class if it does it. Dan ran twin 88's on this motor in his 2900 lbs. car and turned 6.50's at around 226 mph. I will be around 3400 lbs w/driver when it's said and done.

Greg is getting to that the end of the week. If we can fit the Fluidyne, we'll use it - if not, a smaller one will go in.

If this motor holds up (it should...lol) - then I'll be selling the complete long block in the winter.
