Found two used 2007 GT500 rims [with no sensors] and will order two new ones. So what should I do about TPMS?
1. Transfer existing sensors and hardware from my old wheels?
2. Buy used sensors on eBay and install with new bands?
3. Buy and install the newer type valve-mounted sensors?
4. Buy all new band-mount sensors and hardware?
5. Buy used valve-mount sensors?

YouTube videos are a bit confusing about whether newer style sensors will work on a 2007. Seems a lot more convenient if it works.
For a mandated nanny gizmo like this, cheaper is always better, IMO.
The car has not been tracked and will not be, so excessive wheel heat is not an issue.

All suggestions welcomed, TIA,
Enfield

I already have Vida/Dice for my Volvo, so am familiar with the concept. Is there a preferred vendor?
Can't by any chance be done with Diablo?

No. Tpms is in the SJB.
Or you can put.the sensors in a sealed tube, pressurized, and throw it in the trunk.

For the labor costs of mounting and rebalancing a tire, I wouldn't buy used TPMS sensors. The batteries have a finite life and aren't serviceable. A TPMS scan tool is only going to tell you if the battery is good or bad, but not how long it has left.

The Ford/Motorcraft valve stem mount will not work with the '07-'09 SJB. There are aftermarket valve stem mount sensors that are compatible with the '07-'09 SJB. If you're not in a hurry, then shop around for something that is direct-fit compatible and in your price range. If the wheels don't have the old bands/cage, then valve stem type would probably be easier (as long as it's at the right angle). If your rims still have the old bands, then new band-type sensors and clips would be certain to fit.

New rims do not have the bands, and my first-choice tire installer wanted to sell me his valve-mount sensors for $75 apiece! eBay solution looks to run about $85, including the hand-held trainer device. The usual caveats of buying cheap off eBay apply - as in it may not work and tough luck if that happens. Pulling the sensors off my old wheels also looks like a losing proposition, as I would have to pay to have the tires remounted on the old wheels and re-balanced.

So, Forscan looks like a reasonable alternative. If I read their site correctly, I can get a free trial license and check out my car's configurations - and even program the SJB to delete TPMS function. Is that correct? If the initial attempt at TPMS delete works, I would think that buying a Forscan license is a no-brainer.

Up to you if you want to buy Forscan license. You get 2 months trial, and can keep getting the trial. You need Forscan for 5 minutes. (Only need license to program, diagnostics dont need license)

This is what you are after in Forscan:Select programming, sjb, asbuilt.

This is stock on mine: is the SJB address 726-01-01
726-01-01 0000 0020 0251 <<< This was stock
726-01-01 0000 0020 83D6 <<< This is what I set it to for no TPMS.

Your data maybe different, but TPMS is in the first 2 characters of the last block (02/83) The last 2 are checksum (51/D6), Forscan will calculate and fill it in.

I bought metal valve stem tpms for my new Shelby wheels. I think I paid $120ish dollars for all four and there’s plenty of cheaper options on eBay. Discount tire mounted mine and programmed them with no issues. 86F1E19B-4E1C-4759-8DC7-96DFAFE68B07.jpeg

I got four Motorcraft sensors and the Motorcraft programming tool off eBay last year for $85.00 US for the works. Not bad considering the dealership wanted 80 ish each and then the labour for the programming.

Forscan is not playing well with my Volvo DiCE [J2524] adapter. Will try downloading some new drivers and see what happens. May have to buy a different adapter to get Forscan to work.
Meanwhile, there are lots of cheap Motorcraft TPMS packages on eBay, but they are PN DE8T-1A180-AA, and their fitment seems to be suitable only for 2010+. The older stuff [band mount] is not cheap.
Will the newer sensor work with a 2007?

Im using valve stem mounted tpms sensors. There’s a ton of different ones on eBay for pretty cheap. I got the ITM ones because if I’m not mistaken, they’re made in Germany.

I got these for my 2012 Ford edge sport 22 inch rims. Four for $27 (at the time of purchase) with a lifetime warranty. I bought my tires from discount tire and they put them in for me. I’m pretty sure they would change one out for me as well because I’ve been a customer for about 20 years…
They also did the relearn process to pair them to my vehicle.
I know it’s not the band type, but there are options...

Went with ITM's and a Ford trainer off eBay for $113 total. Car now sits on period correct GT500 rims and a square set of summer Generals - 275/40's. The square setup is accidental; no one had front 255/45's in stock so all 275's it was. TPMS setup courtesy of Youtube.IMG_1516[1].JPG
