Folks,

Other than American Muscle and TireRack, where do you buy wheels on line?

LMR has wheels. About the same as AM. I stay the hell away from AM. If you want to drop some $$ you can go to Apex. They are one of the sponsors here, I believe. Not all of their wheels are super expensive, just the forged super lites. CARiD. RimsOutlet. I've heard of another place called Rim Jobs. I haven't checked them out, though.

+1 for Forgestars. I've had my CF5's almost 9 years now and 0 issues with them. Daily driven.

be careful with AM. they will make it appear they have the wheels in stock but dont. call and verify on hand or if just available. if available have them call and get soonest. i have found they show available for wheels no longer made...or they have one in stock.

Can't disagree with your statement, but nothing beats the experience (good or bad) from forum members.

I hear ya. Unless you go direct from the manufacturer they're all pretty much the same. Most will drop ship from the wheel manufacturer anyways so it all comes down to customer service when shit is effed up. The last wheels I bought were an odd bolt pattern with the offset and ordered from some company out of LA that I never heard of. No issues. Obviously read a few reviews.

I looked on AM, Tire Rack, carID, and discount tire direct. Have bought wheels from AM and Discount Tire before. I had to send the AM brand wheels back, some had paint defects and some weren't true. After that I was looking on AM for a higher quality brand, and settled on Vossen in a discontinued finish but couldn't tell if they actually had them in stock. There were a few other places that oddly enough said they had the same number in stock, definitely holds up the drop ship notion. Eventually contacted Vossen's US team about it and they hooked me up with a place in LA that could do the finish I wanted.

You could also look for wheel shops in your area, I had one that carried a whole bunch of brands I'd never even heard of
