Hi All
I've recently bought my first Mustang, having been planning to do so for many years. Question is however, exactly what have I bought ?? Might seem an odd question but I'm over in North Scotland and there's not many others around here to look at :0)
What I have been able to find out is it is a GT Deluxe and was built as an automatic in 2008, sold in Florida, written off in 2013, converted to a 5 speed manual and exported to the UK in late 2013. It's got a Roush Induction kit fitted and a Hurth short shift gear lever that I can see, but I've no idea what the full spec was on a "Deluxe" so whether the fake hood and side intakes are standard or not ? Also, it's got a 4 gauge instrument cluster and as I think the GT's came with a 6 gauge cluster I guess it was swapped when the gearbox was changed ? There is just a blanking plate where the INFO/RESET/SETUP switch cluster goes, so is MYCOLOR etc only available on the 6 gauge instrument clusters ? Any info on the factory spec for a 2008 GT Deluxe would be much appreciated so I can at least know what has been added as an extra item, and if anyone has the p/n for a 2008 manual GT 6 gauge instrument cluster (or indeed a cluster they're willing to sell !) I'd really appreciate it. Currently 75,000 miles on it and grinning every extra mile that I add.
Many thanks in advance
Nigel

Nice car Nigel!
The Deluxe originally came with a four-gauge cluster and a blanking plate in place of the INFO/RESET/SETUP switch so yours is definitely a Deluxe. The hood scoop, hood pins, side scoops, rear window louvres, front chin spoiler, and alloy wheels aren't original to the car. The car would have come out of the factory with 17" rims and 235/55R17 tyres.
One of the first upgrades I did on my Deluxe model was to swap in a six-gauge cluster with My Color together with the INFO/RESET/SETUP switch. The wiring pigtail is already in place behind the blanking plate so it's plug n' play. My car also had the base spec plastic rimmed steering wheel and I replaced it with a used take off leather-rimmed wheel from a Premium model that was in perfect condition.
Since your car has an aftermarket Roush cold air intake kit (same as Airaid MXP), the ECU will almost certainly have been reprogrammed with an aftermarket tune. If your car came with a handheld tuner, it might have the original stock tune file stored in it. Otherwise you're stuck with whatever tune file is in the ECU, making it more difficult to either revert back to stock or retune with a new file should you add further performance upgrades.

Welcome from Miami, FL.

Not sure what "written off in 2013" means but nice looking Mustang.

Written off = Totaled
It was probably sold at an auction lot and repaired before being exported.
If you perform a Google search of the VIN (vehicle identification number aka chassis number), you might find pictures of the car in its former damaged state at an auction lot.

Thanks Dino, that's fantastic info, and good to know the body add on's have been done post factory. I've already got a leather rimmed steering wheel so I think the 6 gauge cluster will be my next add on when I can find one. I'll google the vin and see what turns up. Thanks again

I haven't read all the reviews between your original post and my response. Six gauge don't come on the Deluxe. Look on the center part of the dash where the rubber reset, info is located. It may be a dummy and will have wires inserted in the back of it, you could convert to a six gauge. I'm non mechanical and I ended up getting rid of my 2008 California Special convertible because it was a deluxe and bought a 2012 GT convertible with premium interior. While they don't make the car run any better, I prefer a nice interior. As you can see the fake scoops are a part of Mustangs. But they are extra accessories. For example, this car could have been ordered without the hood scoop and probably without the side scoops as well. Mustangs truly are "plug and play"

Welcome to the site and good luck with your project.

The 6 gauge/MyColor cluster was actually part of the interior upgrade package, not the premium package. Every non-Shelby trim had the 4 gauge cluster as standard and only the V6 deluxe cold not be optioned up to the 6 gauge.

Thanks, good to know. From Googleing clusters for sale I think I'll need a 7R33-10849-GC but can't find for certain if this suits both Auto and Manual boxes, conflicting info from multiple sources !!

Welcome from Germany!

Do you have a side blinker in the fender? If yes, it has been rebuild in Lithuania. Usually they do a good job and they often add these spoilers, scoops or glass fiber bonnets.
Unfortunately German resellers try to hide that it was a salvage car, after a while most people knew that the side blinker was an identification for Lithuania rebuild.

Have fun

Thanks GriffX. I've tracked it's history a bit now, definately left the US and imported directly to UK.
