Ignition Cylinder Came Out of Column?! (08 Bullitt)

So this happened last weekend when I parked and went to pull the key out of my 2008 Bullitt. I can reinsert the cylinder, with the key in place, and everything works as expected. Some background: last year I noticed that the door bell had stopped dinging when I left the key in the ignition (car off) and opened the door. Perhaps whatever broke then was a lead up to this?

Not 100% sure what to do here. Any input appreciated!

had the same issues ( 2008 Bullitt also )
I bought a new cylinder at RockAuto .. and used the old "locks" of the brocken cylinder to save my original keys. "Recoding "the cylinder is some work , pacient work... but it works.

My 2008 has a different issue (and from the records, the previous owner had the "ignition sleeve" replaced under warranty at 26K miles) with the ignition. If I turn the car off, with the steering wheel off center, it occasionally doesn't want to unlock. The usual trick of pressure, by turning the wheel, one way or the other doesn't work. I have to jiggle and wiggle the key in the ignition, to get it to finally unlock. Once I learned about this quirk (feature?), I just keep the wheel straight and no problems after parking.

if I were you... I would not drive one inch more with the car. If the steering look comes in because of a bump.. a dip..or what ever... bad cards.
