Convertible top trim pieces removal

Want to remove these pieces for clean-up and refinishing. Has anyone removed these successfully? I have read the one on the rear is on with adhesive. Mainly the side ones are the priority, but the entire set is the goal. All guidance is gladly accepted. 2013 car.

I had a real hard time removing em. They use one way hooks that would rather bend the sheet metal before releasing. Be really careful.

I'd recommend using plastic trim removal tools instead of metal ones - saved me from scratching the paint when I did mine.

Will do, awaiting new battery tray to get here so I have power to lower the top.

Learned a ton, First off the side trims come off by squeezing the clips together from below. Lower the top a tad, there are five clips that get squeezed together to release shown here



then the part by the rear side windows have three clips, pry trim straight up starting in the front, wiggle and pry. these three are a spring type clip. see below



Same on both sides of the car. rear piece is easy peasy just slide it forward after side trims are removed.

I freshened up the trim with Dupont trim paint, huge fan of the stuff. It bonds great looks great and lasts like forever. Been using it for the best part of the last decade on all my rides.

Also learned no rust issues at all up inder the trims. Did not know what to expect, but a bonus in my mind.
