Supercharger Inlet/Outlet Hoses

Hello everyone.

Just finished installing the CWA100 and all silicone hoses and noticed when running it up to temp that the inlet was and seemed to have great flow but the outlet hose was noticeably softer. The outlet is flowing because when I squeezed it the Degas take gurgled a little. Could the restrictive Roush intercooler and 0.5" inlets/outlets slow down the faster pump enough to give me what I am seeing? Any suggestions?

I have the same pump. You should see the same flow in and out. Coolant should be pouring in at a fairly good rate at the top of the degas tank and disappearing at the same rate at the bottom since it's a closed system. If not, possible you still have air in the system.

To improve overall flow (and remove excess trapped air) you can create a bypass (see below) but like you said smaller inlets/outlets will slow down the amount that the pump can push/pull through the Intercooler. To determine how much you can mock up and bench test the pump with 1/2" lines so you know the rate of flow you're getting out of the pump in one minute.

I do indeed have a bypass installed. 90 degree fitting at entry of the degas tank, 45 degree fitting at the exit. 1" tubing everywhere except the inlet/outlet of the intake manifold, to/from the degas tank, and to/from the CWA100 pump. Could the reason for the low activity in the degas tank be the speed of the pump? Would a 45 degree fitting at the entry help with that?

If you're running a bypass then you won't see coolant flow in the tank (or very little if at all) because the bypass is handling the majority of the flow thru the system. As long as you don't hear cavitation (pump should be pretty much silent) and your IATs are low the system is operating as it should. What are you using to monitor IATs?

I use a VLS gauge with two sensors; one in the elbow for the air intake (non-compressed) and the other in the supercharger manifold (compressed side). In my setup I typically see about a 23 degree difference between ambient air compared to what the manifold is showing. Overall temps vary by the temperature on a given day but the 23 deg difference is pretty much there all of the time unless I've got my foot in it.

An Aeroforce Interceptor. The sensor taking the reading is on the drivers side of the intake manifold. Does your setup involved drilling into the intake manifold in another location?

Naw, mine was already drilled for 1/4 & 3/8" pipe fittings. Just had to remove a couple of plugs and thread the sensors in. Got my manifold/system from Dept of Boost. Very well engineered. See below:

IAT1 Ambient - Non-compressed - threaded into elbow (white/black) wire & sensor.

IAT2 Compressed - threaded into pressure side (passenger side) to take compressed IAT readings. On average runs 23 degs higher than ambient.

I monitor intercooler water temp as well as IAT after it passes through intercooler. On average, water temp is 10° over ambient, and air is 20° over.
Last summer on a 90° track day, the IAT was 125°. I have the bypass on the degas tank also.
