EDIT: Yep. $175 tube with a diaphragm in it.

Well that has got to be one of the gayest mods I've ever seen. But let me make sure I got this right. It just increases noise inside the cabin?

You nailed it. Right up there with the fart can mufflers and those dumb ass whistlers you stick in the exhaust pipe.

Have you guys all forgotten that Ford put that silly-ass sound tube in the S197. It connected the clean air duct to a firewall mounted diaphragm to enhance the engine sound in the cabin. I don’t know what years had it but it was on my 2010 GT.

I think that was 10-14. At least its not a fake sound coming thru the speakers...

I can't dislike the factory S197 sound tube too much. I got one with some other parts and sold it for $30.

The sound tube was on my 2010GT. It vanished when the Roush blower was installed, along with the 3 x aeroforce gauges. With the JBA LT's....trust me, it's plenty loud enough.

Yep, that's all it does. At the firewall end is a very thin polycarbonate (I think) diaphragm that resonates with the airflow thru the airbox/intake hose. You're not hearing the motor, just the rush of air going into it.

IIRC, a salad dressing cap fits on it perfectly. A little silicone and black spray paint and you're gtg

Wow, the only thing I can liken that to is when we were kids we'd take playing cards and affix them to the forks of our bicycles so they would make noise as the spokes hit them. Totally useless but gave us a rush/engine sound that only 8 year old's could appreciate. Yes sir, those were the days!
