Ok I know this isn't GT specific so this thread might need to be moved, but i'm having trouble finding a hood. I've searched for it but can't come up with anything.

I remember one of those "which hood to get" threads, that had a certain cowl induction hood. I can't remember the companies name. It was something like VFM or Vhm or something wierd like that. I had a brain fart and just can't remember for nothing. I do remember they are made to order hoods. It probly the best looking cowl hoods for these cars that I know of, more of a roundish, "bubble" style cowl hood, not the sharp-edged versions from Cervini, trufiber, etc

far as i know, thier quality is not the greatest. very light hood and lines up great,im pretty happy with it but its not perfect by a long shot. hood weighs a whopping 12 pounds.

Well i'm looking for something I can paint. I know the CF can be painted but that would be a waist IMO......Its going to be a while, i'm going to finish the motor first. Gotta get the block and some other odds and ends together. The guy that is building my cage is a freakin' genious with an air brush, so I wan't to get some of his work on my car (hence the new hood)

I agree the quality isn't the best and the fitment is good. However I don't think it is CF, it appears to be a CF laminate instead. At least that is what mine is, looks like a CF laminate over plastic. I was pretty pissed when I saw that. Tried contacting VIS about it but they wouldn't answer any emails.

Cervini was my first choice...............They are REALLY good looking hoods. I just want something in between their 2.5 and the 4", the 2.5 is too small and the 4 is too big.............and i'm not too fond on the sharp angles their hoods have. Still a good looking piece and second on my list.

I hate my VIS hood. I have the same one as Willy, I'm on my 2nd one ( 1st one was replaced under warranty because it warped and had stress cracks ) I wont be buying VIS again, even though I LOVE the way the hood looks.

I've got the 4" hood. It's not as bad as you think. Looks pretty slick on the car. No problems seeing over it either (so no short jokes you bunch of pricks).

I'd let it go for $300 since you're not too far from me.
