On fill it it ended up being 31.0 and backed up with 30.8 on the next tank and on a regular basis it was averaging 27-29 to work and back.
Did you ck it with a calculator against the gallons used to get a milage est without useing the computer in the car ?

I do this every time with all my vehicles. If there are any big unaccounted for changes that is a very good indication of a problem.

35.8 MPG driving from Quakertown, PA to Bethlehem, PA after filling up the tank. I got lucky and hit all green lights. It was 45-55 MPH almost the whole way with one short section of 35-40 MPH.

I think a few of you need to not look at the comp avg and run a tank through the car and get out the calculator . I have never ever owned a Ford vehicle that read the fuel mileage correctly. As a matter of fact my F350s are 100 mi off per tank .

I've been keeping track of mine and comparing it to what the computer says. The "AVGERAGE MPG" is about 0.7 MPG optimistic in my car on average. Some tanks, its less than 0.2 MPG off and others its a full 1 MPG off.

my computer avg mpg is within .2 mainly cuz i stop the pump on the first click. most people keep filling their tank after the first click. my used gallons on the compter is almost spot on cuz of this also. i check mine with a calculator everytime i fill up.

That 35.8mpg is amazing, these engines are truly next generation compared to the 2v.

Screw hybrids, we'll just make everyone drive Mustang GT's downhill with a tail wind...I'm rolling my eyes pretty hard at this thread. Seriously? And where's the tech?

I was pretty excited that I was getting roughly 26 mpg on my trip from Memphis, TN back home to Detroit, MI when I picked up my car this past weekend. Now I am seeing people with 30+ on here?

car has 40k miles on it and the fuel filter, plugs and etc have never been changed so hopefully once I do that it will get a little better.

With the variable cam you can also really reduce the pumping losses by creating more natural EGR. There are quite a few other tricks you can do, some at the expense of running higher EGTs.

Your tire/rim choice plays a large part of the rolling resistance as well.

And if you want to cheat you can mod the tune to calculate an awesome MPG for you lol.

yup,
I get 13 combined driving on 92 octane. This is using a calculator not the ford built computer, or coasting and resetting the computer while doing so.

Sorry if it was unclear but yes that was calculated out to 31.0 instead of the 31.8 shown which proves the stock guage is off alittle bit.

LOL !!!! This thread is BS ! I really dont care and should have stayed out but to be clear I get 14 - 16 mpg and love it so there is no skin off my ass ! I just think these 30 + mpg are people playing with the comp calculations and not real world . Just like all the other Ford (8) vehicles I have bought in the last several years. Point was the computer calculation is shit and dont count on it !

I think one thing pople have to understand is changing in the car and get the pos to report wrong info like changes in tire size and not updating it in the tune.

my iup told me I was getting 31mph at 70mph... BS

I know there is some dork out there that is bragging about his gt gets 40 per gallon.. haha
