Rebuilt motor parts

Listed below is this kit they are installing.

It is part number 14410, Forged
4340 crank, H-beam rods and Arias 2618 forged pistons. 8.8:1 comp. with 52cc
heads. Your engine was 9.8:1.

I have to ask why stock stroke? And I would of definitely gone higher on compression! Good luck with the build up :beer:

Yeah, now the high compression should not be a concern since you are putting a good h beam rod in it.

And as far as compression---its detonation that kills these things. If he is saying its rpm, then how did it let go at only 3500 rpm in which you stated that earlier in this thread? Its too much timing combined with cheap gas which will cause detonation that kills these motors.

In any case, with the lower compression you will be able to run more timing at the same boost level with pump gas, and in the end (since you are not going for 600+ rwhp) it probably won't make alot of difference. You may have to run a little more boost and timing to make up the difference.

Do the right thing and have them order a MMR short block and call it a day, can't go wrong with MMR.........

and this coming from a guy with a MMR block??I realize some people have had issues with MMR here,but there are other people that have not and had good success with thier stuff, i personally have had good service from them, nothing major like a block but i wouldnt get so worked up over what he said about MMR. I personally would not want to us them just from their rep on this board, but there are plenty of people with no problems, not that i am in anyway trying to stick up for them.

I had an MMR block.. would still have it if they didnt over bore a "new" block so much. Its ok.. just another 1200 pissed away. =-/
