SC reliability

I was wondering what you guys think is a more reliable supercharger for daily driving, a centrifugal such as a procharger or a twin screw?

search function is your friend... but everyone will have a different opinion on this matter just so you know.... IMO a reliable supercharger for a daily driven car is one that is not in boost all the time which would be a Centrifugal.... like a Procharger, Vortech, Paxton, etc.... but thats my opinion.

FYI People have been running twin screws on these cars for years now without any problems... think Saleen, Roush.... so as long as you stay under 450rwhp you should be fine with any SC assuming your not on the gas pedal 100% of the time.

my twin screw is not showing boost all the time when i drive, many days ive driven it all day with out making boost.

i would also think that a twin screw would last a while, after all they use them in long term industrial applications all the time like in air compressors and such.

Yes I can stay out of boost, but I think it would be easier with a turbo. You also don't have those lovely belt issues to figure out. Then again I guess not everyone has those fun belt issues to figure out.

I've never owner a supercharged daily driver, but I've never seen a centri. on a factory car like roots style that I see on other stock cars.

Twin screws don't see boost all the time. I could go a whole day without seeing boost just driving around. Boost doesn't hit until you go hard on the gas.

Anything can be reliable. Just stick with the tune that comes with the blower.

They are as reliable as you make them, if you dont maintain them then they will goto shit just as if you dont maintain your car. Most blower companies have a maintenance schedule for their blowers, follow them. If you have the ability to check your tune on a regular scedule then do so. Change plugs more often, boost is hard on plugs. Change your oil and use a quality oil, dont use any fish oil internet crap. A lot of blower companies are offereing 3 year warranties now, but you have to follow their steps and have proof.

I have a saleen supercharger on mine, I have to hit it at least once a day to make sure it still works! Over 10K miles since install, no issues! I'm also running 4:10s, I wouldn't change a thing!
