Touchy or not, the evidence is mounting the 2011 brings significant power improvements. If true, I'm up for a new car this summer anyhow, and this would be something at the top of the list of possibilities (CTS Sedan or Coupe, Taurus SHO is another).

I wasn't going to say anything until you wrote this, but come on man... the word is "to" not "2" (not to mention "u", "b4", etc.). It's really hard to take someone seriously when they write like a 14-year old girl texting her friends.

:soapbox:

Thank you:thanks1:

you need 2 chill out DUDE!!,with all ure negative attitude and comments!! Ford was at Rockinham testing 2 2011 Mustangs! period!! none of us will ever know what they were testing really!Do you work 4 Ford since you THINK u know everything? Don't think so!! seems like ure a dumb ass 2 that don't know shit!! stay off my thread and keep ure negativity 2 ureself,THANKYOU!!!:hijacked:
First off, your thread is not "hijacked", i'm talking about the subject at hand. I'm not denying they were at the track am I?? I'm just saying your facts don't add up. Actually yes, I AM A FORD MOTOR COMPANY EMPLOYEE. So you might want to just retract that statement of me being a dumbass and "don't know shit", or just shove it up your ass, because I have more Ford automobile knowledge than you could possibly imagine. Not being negative here man, it just sounds funny is all.

yeah tahts what im sayin just throw the 5.0 block in our cars like ive seen some of these people do....im not too worried about there power i like to see the mustang keep beating the camaro..made me jealous at first with the new engine but i like the styling of our 05-09 A LOT better than the new mustangs...so when the time comes 5.0 or 5.4 3V and were good to go..

Ive been thinking about the 5.0 valve since ive seen the release pics. I will do the all motor set up on my 3 valve then once they new 5.0's are released ford racing will come out with a complete long block you can buy. Slap it in and start testing stuff all over again :p My car is finally where i want it. Looking good, hooking good, and very light

Yep, same idea. Can't see shelling out another 35K or so on a new toy/hobbie. Can see ~ 8k on a 5.0 302 ci motor. I have felt since the release of the s197 platform, why a 4.6? At least a 289 cu, best the 302ci. Maybe it's old school thought that makes me beg for the larger engine. The last stang I owned before this one which was the 1981 4.6 turd that ford released. Then again all the cars were turds from 74-1983 till the 302 came back out.

On the other issue, why would Ford Racing be testing out a new platform that is not even in production yet. I wouldn't be sure if the design is complete and official.

Jesus this thread started out as shit and took a hard turn to shitville , why would they be testing motors now when the release date is not far ahead ? Doubt that , IF they were in fact testing something it would be for years ahead not next years . Now as far as 3v heads being on it to save costs thats something new to me every report I have read says the 5.0 will be a all new design , in other words the old shit aint fitting . I think someone who doesn't know any better got their chain jerked .

What, you guys don't think this guy is just oozing with legitimacy?

If it was really top secret factory testing, down to stripping personnel of cell phones, you'd be a little more cautious about blabbering about this on the internet. Or maybe you are just that dumb.

Interesting rumors from an unknown source.

I hope this stuff is true--but I'm not holding my breath.

+1

I couldn't care less what engine goes into the 2011, because I'll never buy one.

Besides, they will always slower and uglier than my 2005. :moon:

I would appreciate it if you would please possibly consider maybe showing just a bit more respect to the administrators of the board please if you don't mind. Thank you so much for your understanding. We certainly don't wish to get in the way and actually enforce anything here.

Even the V6 will have 05 - 09 GT performance

I really doubt that it will have the same performance as the 2010 GT because the V6 has less torque and everythign I read said the optional performance axle ratio for the 2001 V6 is a 3.31. The standard rear end ratio will be a 2.73 and that's how they got the 29-30 MPG highway mileage figures on the V6.
