I got an O7 gt with an o/r X and cant decide to go with the SLP LM or Flowmasters. Are the SLP's Really TOO loud with an O/r X. Do u actually lose low end power with the SLP Loumouths cause they are a muffler delete.

Please give me some opinions......

LM's are stupid expensive for what they are, which is a piece of pype and a tailpipe, you can do that for less than $100 for both.

and FM`s sound horrible, they're just a popular brand of the 90`s

I put a set of sss terminators on mine. they sound awesome and they are cheap. I plan to do an off road h or x pipe soon. i dunno how they will sound after that tho.

i have flows on mine and i like the sound. its the best i can get it sounding with the tailpipe/muffler config ford decided to throw on there. flows would sound best if they were further upstream. friend of mine has the LM on a stock mid pipe car and it sounds like a truck. another friend of mine took his stock mufflers and welded on some magnaflow tips off his magnaflow axle back and it sounded really good going through the gears. he also had long tube headers and an offroad xpipe. at idle it was very quiet..

check out the flowmaster classic axle back. they are deeper and not quite as raspy. they are about 100 bones more than the american thunder

I had the SLP LM's with the stock exhaust and it sound good. I decided to go with the O/R H pipe with the SLP LM's. When I installed the H pipe and down loaded the tune, I started the mustang and it was way to loud. My neighbors three doors down way complaining about the stang. I went the next day and bought the flowmasters american thunder. After installing the flowmasters and starting the stang it sounded alot better. I still have a loud sound but not that raspy loud sound that the SLP LM's gave off. I highly recomend the flowmasters.

I wouldnt go with the slp lm's, just way too loud and sound like trumpets with a o/r mid pipe. Flowmasters would be a better choice but i would look into other mufflers before buying them. My car came with flowmasters when i bought it so im just leaving them on so i wont have to spend more cash on mufflers but they are ok

Flows will go good with both catted and O/R H a Prochamber. Since you, the OP, has an O/R X, get magnapacks, stingers, regular magnaflows, bassani race, or GTAs.

boomtubes?????? are they any good? Made by MAC correct ?

I have boomtubes on my car now and I am waiting to go with an O/R Prochamber. I picked these over the SLP LM because they have a louvered core that greatly refines the sound as compaired to a straight muffler delete. I don't think they will sound too bad with an O/R X though.

ya but I feel like almost 99% of 2V owners would install FM`s in their cars

ive always ran flowmasters on everything from my 68 Dart, to my 98 GT to my foxbody GT, to my 02 S-trim GT, to my current S197. also ran them on a couple 318 RC Dakotas I used to run.

i grew up listening to the sound of flowmasters.. the current mustangs exhaust setup sorta kills the tone of any muffler being your tailpipe/tip is just a few inches long. i really wish they would have made room for a more traditional exhaust setup. u can run the straight through magnaflows further upstream as the days of ole being they arent big in diameter and run a normal tailpipe but thats about it.

you will actually lose power with flowmasters. there is a guy on here that did the dyno test. he lost 5hp/5tq vs stock mufflers and gained 5hp/6tq with magnaflows vs stock mufflers. so thats a 10hp/11tq difference between magnaflow and flowmaster.
