So I know I was a dumbass when I burnt my old clutch but I have a question. I have my car in the shop right now, they're putting in a new centerforce twin disc clutch and cenerforce flywheel. They just called and said there was no throwout bearing included in the clutch kit. I asked if it was leaking or looked bad, they said it looked fine and not leaking ford wants 230 bucks for a throwout bearing what should i do?

Rock Auto has them for ~$130 to your door just does'nt say FOMOCO. Same manufacturer
"dorman" with some incorporated ECN's. Got mine a year ago for $100 but there are more vendors now.

BTW...I toasted my clutch the same way at the track.

I would only recommend OEM. I sell them for 150, ford had a price increase on them.

+1 on going with the OEM one, I have heard nothing but trouble with any aftermarket ones.

Dont risk it, i personaly would replaced the tob with an oem one evrytime you change the clutch. My stock tob looked great when the mcleoud rst went in at 20,000 miles, but i replaced it with a new oem one just for peace of mind.

They dont' carry a throwout bearing because ford calls it a slave cylinder. They carry them trust me.

Yeah, the got'em..slave. I replaced mine a yr ago with the new clucth and the dorman product is the OE part but like I metioned has a couple of ecn's applied to it that our cars from the factory don't so it excceds. Ask how I know, I talked to one of the engineers from tech support at Dorman. Hell last yr Ford wanted $300 for them.

Just grab the old from the shop and take it to Advance and compare the two. You can't tell the difference. Mine is holding up just fine and I have been trying to grenade the transmission. I wouldn't spend the extra money for a box that says Ford on it.

I used that citrus engine bay cleanor and sprayed it on the tranny when it was out an number of times and in the engine bay too. Let it stand on it for an hr or so. Continued after install, took some time to wear off but after a few days of driving the smell was almost gone. Few weeks later no smell, Sorry.

Go find a dead skunk on the side of the road and wedge it between the floorboard and exhaust pipe. The closer to the engine the better. Haha!!
