19" recommended tires

Right now I'm running 305/30-19 Nitto Invo tires in the rear. I have about 500 hp to the wheels. To be honest most of my driving is done on the street but I NEVER drive in the rain or bad weather. My car does not hook at all! Ive tried Nitto Invo...crap. I've tried Michelin PS2...crap. I was thinking of trying the Toyo R888 Tires next. Instead of spending $700 on rubber again I thought about asking first. Any other options out there? They are kinda limited with a 19"

I have less power but really enjoyed my yokohoms's, I ran their S.4's for 18k not so easy miles, they would definitely break under WOT but were predictable when they did. I'm running Hankook Ventus V12's at the moment and they are pretty decent considering what I saved dollar wise, much stickier than I expected. There are a few more threads on 19" tires, general them being you get the shaft when you buy tires for them.

I was going to try the Ventus V12, they come in the sizes i want and have gotten great reviews... Very wallet friendly aswell.

My car with 467whp on 285 NT05s did not spin barely at all.

Do you have any suspension work done in the rear?

I would go with something super sticky such as Yokohama Neova AD08, Bridgestone RE-11 (very good tire), Nitto NT05 or something along the lines of that.

I'll look at those, the tires I used before were made with a harder compound that I really don't like. Here is my suspension as of now

-Tokico D-Spec adjustable shocks and struts
-Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs
-BMR Adjustable Panhard Rod
-BMR upper panhard rod support
-BMR Adjustable LCA’s
-Steeda Adjustable 3rd link
-Roush rear sway bar

I'm not sure if the suspension question was directed towards me or him but I have poly everything just about. I have 380 @ the tire and these are doing great (245/45 mind you) so as much as flak as I've heard about the hankook line I think they are really effective as a street tire. When I go big power ill probably move to an 18" rim for cost, I can by rims and nice tires for $1-1200 and another set of the yoko's would be $1100!

I have some continentals. 295/35s they suck unless you want to drift. I might go with the Hankooks this time

Yeah, definitely check those tires out. The RE-11 will come in 19" friendly sizes.

I've heard some decent things about Toyo T1Rs, but if you say the Michelin PS2 was crap (which it isn't, may just not have enough straight line traction for you) i wouldn't even try the T1R then.

Another issue could be weather, are you experiencing the wheel spin in the cold or in the warm / hot weather?

oh, I know weather is an issue lol. It gets better when it's warmer outside (summer) but even then it's still a problem. I really try not to drive in the winter. Snows alot

Yeah, I'm running T1R's. In the summer they hooked a lot better but I wasn't blown back then. I'm waiting til warmer weather to decide if I need to go to 18's.

Or we all spam Nitto's customer service saying we want a better size in the 19" nt-05R

Man I feel you guys pain, 19" wheels are the perfect size for the 197's, if only the tire company's would make better sizes, how abut a 305/35/19 Drag Radial NITTO?

I run 19's as well and YES, tires are very limited in my size. First a ran a pair of Kumho SPT's and they were just "okay" as far as traction goes. I had feathering and vibration issues with them. I rec staying away from those.

I decided to go with the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's this time around and they are a great tire and didn't cost much more either. I run 285/35/19 in the rears and 255/40/19 in the front. These things hook much better than I thought they would. BUT it must be warmer out (as with most extreme performance tires). They don't do a whole lot in sub freezing temps...lol.

Quiet, descent wear so far and grip very well at a fantastic price. I got about 6500 miles on them now.

Yes, they grip better. The Hankooks have a slightly softer sidewall (but it doesn't hurt the handling at all). I can take turns and launch harder on the Hankooks than I did with the SPT's. I was actually quite surprised when I put them on. I wasn't expecting a whole lot since they were only a few bux more than the Kumho SPT's. In my book that = great bang for the buck.

The two are pretty even in the rain. But the Hankooks outperform in dry.

They both suck when its under 35* outside...lol. Which has been the case a lot lately.

I run my fronts at 32 psi and the rears at 30psi. They hook best around 27-28psi in the rear but rather have them a little harder for MPG..haha
