Over the passed few weeks I put a few new things in the car. I still have a few left but I got enough down to show off a little!

First off is the Shelby 8" door subs, these things look and sound very nice. The only downside is I wish the grills showed off more of the speaker itself as they look extremely nice!

Then I moved onto the bigger thing this weekend. My new Pioneer X910BT :nice: There are plenty of write ups on here that worked out fine for my friend helping me install it. I just need to fine another din adapter as I'm not happy with how this one sits.

And finally me new Redline boots

All I've got left is these to install, but that will have to be another weekend I suppose...

Nice mods! How hard were the subs to install? Plug and play?

Easiest damn things I've ever put in. Hardest part is putting the panels back in the car honestly. They have a spacer that you use the stock hardware to mount after trimming a few tabs off the door panel, you tuck half of the existing harness ( 2 wires, 4 total ) and run the other two wires to the speaker. I really liked these for that reason - when I have more spare cash I'll do something crazy in there  They sounded good with the stock HU, the Pioneer really woke them up though.

lookin good man, where did you pick up the subs at?

My girl actually ordered them for me as a Christmas present from Moss Muscle, showed up 3 months late though.... I would just order them straight through Shelby or a Kicker dealer.

Man, those subs look great Robert!

Any more pics or details on how you installed that new shifter boot with the OEM trim ring??

Thanks Doug! All I can say is a major PITA! I'm going to e-mail redline and see if they can make me one with about an inch more up around where it meets - my fingers are raw from "coaxing" it and I'm still not happy with how it looks. You can see a corner sticking out here:

NICE!! I'm digging those subs!! I've got a set of RF 8's in my doors and they really thump. I'm not a big Shelby fan, but I really like those grilles too.

Looks good!! :thumb:

i may just pick up a set of the 8" shallow kicker CVRs. how would you rate the sound before/after?

For the money there are probably better out there. Before and after was nice, the head unit made a much larger difference though.

Thanks man! The grills are a love/hate right now. I hate badging/branding of any kind unless I put it there, so I'll have to come up with something to replace it! They have an OE look to them that I do like though - don't stand out to much

Looks good! What shift boot bezel is that? Bullitt?

Also, have you tested the gauges yet? Do they have some funky/flashy turn on/off sequence like the import gauges (needles flap around a dozen times, lights flash, beepers beep; general obnoxiousness), or do they function like normal gauges?

You put that very subtle! They cycle one full sweep and then zero out until you start the car. No lights, beeps, anything like that. They came from speed hut, I'm really happy with them. Form and function is never a bad thing in my eyes.

The boot is from the factory IUP package from mid 07+. It matches all the other satin pieces in the car very nicely because of that.

Excellent! I've been wanting some full-sweep electrics with integrated warning lights for a while, but didn't want the superfluous BS (maybe I'm just a no-frills kinda guy, I don't know..). I was about ready to plunk down $500 on a pair of Autometer Elites, but from what I see I can do a trio of Speed Hut gauges for the same or less than that..and it's always good to buy US made stuff.

Alan from SOS turned me on to these guys. From my understanding the owners granddad started Autometer, and when they left they started this company. They have discounts for 3 or more, I should of ordered my wideband at the same time and been done with it. All in all I'm really happy with the gauges and the service and they have a hell of a warranty to boot!
