The faster you want to go the better the suspension is needed. Yours look like a bucking bronco 1-2 gear shift but mine was too. Got tired of it after a couple outting 3 or so yrs ago and installed the current setup. In regard to the dyno and mod's...I did mine on the same dyno and operator" Pet Milano" at L&L 454 dyno. Same setup and weather conditions. We were looking at deltas between mods.

BTW, my car lost 100lbs over the weekend.

454 is back up and running? I think the shop in Covington (L&L) closed a while back.

They're still open. The last dyno was over two yrs ago. Last time I talked to Pete and Bill they had sold the mustang dyno and their sponsership at the track in Gulfport was gone. Times are tuff. I know of two other shops that are barely getting by.

not trying to argue any point or whatever, but i do beleive TPS dyno numbers are always SAE, unless you asked otherwise. most dynos use SAE as the standard. good gains none-the-less.

if I remember correctly...you can download the Cool DynoJet program which will let you switch all the paramters around and overlay dyno runs to see the curves and numbers. Of course if you have the files from the tuner.

I go to SCR about once a month, but with the bad weather coming in April I doubt I'll go then.

great job! and youre 100% right...dyno numbers only tell part of the tale. i used to love to see those threads where someone would post dyno #'s then their ET's and people would come out of the woodwork calling BS beause "their car makes x more hp, yet they run y less time at the track". That timeslip is all that really matters.

Do you need to get a new tune with these headers?

Before I express my thoughts on this, I want to let you know that I am a 15 year old with no drivers license nor car, and my only attained technical information is from reading car magazines and scanning the tech sections of various Mustang forums, so even if I do sound like a very knowledgeable and experienced person, please take all of this with a grain of salt if you deem it necessary.

To the best of my limited knowledge, long tube headers significantly increase airflow, so this will result in a leaner air/fuel mixture(less fuel, more air), which is part of why a tune is needed.

Re-adjusting the A/F after installing headers or any airflow increasing modification makes your car run smoother and adds otherwise untapped power.

Also, when long tube headers are added, the catalytic converters are moved downstream from the 02 sensors, causing the PCM to see something out of sort, so it throws a Check Engine Light.

Obviously this is not indicating a problem that could be ultimately detrimental to the engine, but when you get your emissions checked, this CEL won't allow you to pass.

To fix this, people either purchase CEL eliminators(which disguise the CEL) or turn off the 02 sensors(also disguises the CEL). I do not think you can pass with 02 sensors turned off. I am not very keen on this 02 sensor/emissions subject, so it would be best for someone else to elaborate.

Just thought I'd express my information supporting the fact that you need a tune upon the install of longtube headers. :hi:

Anyone of a higher level of knowledge who sees any errors in my information, please correct me.

you are correct, except for that the cats are in the h/x pipe and not the headers. therefore, you can still run longtubes with hi flo cats if need be.

I meant to say that the cats on longtube header specific mid pipes are moved towards the exhaust tips because the header length is increased, but I'll go with what you said. :)

Don't forget 470, there's also a MAF meter at the front of the whole process telling the PCM how much air is flowing in, so it will register more MAF if there's been any flow increase. Since it knows the airflow, it can still provide the right a/f ratio.
