Received some new information from C&L on their CAI for the 2011 5.0 cars. The following chart shows gains from airflow improvement only with their intake only while using the same timing, air/fuel ratio, and coolant temperatures. This is with no tuning changes whatsoever. The stock assembly flows 748 cfm, the "no tune required" kit flows 1096 cfm, and the "tune required" kit flows 1112 cfm. The numbers in this chart are for the "no tune required" kit.

This unit delivers the same MAF signal to the computer while increasing airflow 46%. More news to come soon.

The stock dyno numbers seem about 10-15hp lower then others that we have seen including our own test car that SAE dyno'd at 373/353 bone stock. Obviously the test car was a 6spd as well as ours so I'm wondering why the lower base numbers.

I look forward to testing this CAI as well once its available.

I dunno. Every dyno is different.

I agree but technically its not supposed to be like that so testing this product on other dyno's on other cars in a similar fashion will show for sure if the same gains are realized. Thanks for the info, sure looks like a quality product:clap:.

Any idea why the max spark advance is 6 degrees less with the CAI kit?

I'm wondering if the knock sensors pulled timing due to higher inlet temps...but then why more power across the board with less ignition advance?

Confused again,

It looks like the timing spiked for whatever reasons in the last 50RPM of the stock pull. I know if I hit the limiter in my 07, the spark timing would get skewed

8-11 RWHP,

I will find out tomorrow thats for sure. Considering they never posted any dyno graphs I am skeptical of the claims but thats why I ordered it and will continue to purchase and test parts that become available to help those that want an unbiased honest opinion of what these products actually do.

If it makes 8-11 as the C&L one has then it will give us an idea as to what any CAI for these cars will make with the same MAF housing size.

If I'm reading the end of the line right, it shows 23.0~ and 23.12...

The rest of the spark graph looks flat. I figure the legend could use a little adjusting to show what is really happening along the line...

Very nice kit it seems compared to the "other". I'd like to see testing on the tune required one as well.

Maybe I'm not reading something right, but how is this different from MMR's?? CAI with no tune and you're getting about 10rwhp or a 15-20hp gain. MMR claims the same and seems to be what you get with the intake only and no tune.

The problem I'm having with the MMR is the drivability suffers. surges and pulls sometimes. So what would this CAI do or have that is any different??? The MMR intake looks good, just got it to run correctly. I can't see why this would run any different. Am I missing something guys?
