And what the hell is with all of those flex joints in their piping? That tells me they can't design a kit to fit right the first time, that it was slightly off.

I do admire Lightblade's resourcefulness. You other guys (antonio/rford) make me scratch my head about our educational system.

You can knock the quality of the turbo, wastgate, and bov, sure i can understand that, but the flex joints are actually a really great idea! If you notice they are where the piping goes from one side of the car to the other, not only will there be less stress on the vband connections and fitment, but it will also allow the piping to flex when the engine torques over.

There was a helion kit owner earlier in one of these on3 threads that wished his kit had the flex couplers and was going to add them.

So, spill the beans... How much is John Urist & Co paying you? You have 23 posts, 90% are bashing this and the other 10% are one word thread replies. If you are so distraught about everyone buying the On3 kits, why don't you fund these guys' Hellion builds. Hell, while you are handing them out, I will take a Hellion kit as well! Please save us from the dreaded Chinese turbo kit and ourselves before it's too late.

I am a self-admitted Hellion "nutswinger" from having had their kit on an 01 Bullitt. I will support them whenever I can as they do more for the Mustang community than a place like on3 could ever imagine doing, unless outsourcing jobs to factories that produce knock-off performance parts and pay in steamed buns and noodles is a highly respected thing to do now-a-days.

Lol thank you tanner! It's going to suck if I ever need to represent this guy in court, and even worse for him if he is opposite of me.

He ment on3, has been around for awhile they make kit for 96-98, 99-04, and 5.0 as well.

IM not doing bad:
on3 kit(minus turbo, bov, wastgate amd oil filter rel) $1590
precision 67mm turbo $600
Tial 50mm bov $150
Tial 38mm wastgate $200

Thats $2540 total with all seperate upgraded components.

I'm liking this... But it kinda makes me laugh that the WHOLE kit it $2k on ebay, and the piping is 1590 of that! It's hard for me to think that anyone can justify that $400 for the turbo, bov and wastegate can represent any kind of quality components, but I'm still open minded to building a kit off the piping kit... I need to talk with some tuners before I get too serious though, as I think that's the toughest part find a somewhat local tuner to get it right.

Yes I used gasket maker did I have to no, there are plenty of other guys on corral who do not. I got a turbo that wasn't tapped most of the time they are from when you get them but I like where I did mine instead so it didn't matter. As far as quality do you have the kit do you know anyone that does? You probably read about all the old kits an I will admit they weren't as good, but in the last year or so he has made great progress with quality. I know your thinking the wastegate and stuff, ok I have 2g more to buy that and a boost controller and whatever else you want to say is going to fall apart. Don't be so quick to bash the kit I have put right around 430 miles on my car and drove it in the rain twice. I've only had to tighten everything once and my oil leak was my oil feed line not being tight enough. Which cause my oil leak, but go ahead spend your extra 2g on a kit that you think will be so much better. I'm happy with it now and I'm sure I'll be happy with it later as guys are making 600+ with these turbo kits on other forums.

I daily drive my SGT, and put 400 miles per week on it almost... leaks are NOT an option for me. If it is just a matter of re-torque-ing things once, I don't care, but if it's recurring problems, then I have to pass. NOT hating on your kit or your deal or anything, I'm just saying I NEED it to be reliable, and I don't want to have it on a lift every weekend fucking with it. I want the best bang for the buck, but I don't car if it's $2k or $8k, I will wait till I can afford whats RIGHT. Keep us posted thru 2k+ miles so I can make an informed purchase :)

You won't though, like I said I've only tightened it all once. I actually rode down and picked my kit up personally from Chad. I have alot of respect for him andhis customer service. That alone makes it so much better to buy the kit and the fact that if there was a problem he would have it fixed in no time, to make you happy. If you do research(outside turbo forums) you will see not one person that actually owns the kit bad mouth it. Just people like this guy who don't even have it nor have seen it just say how bad it sucks because it's cheap.

I just read through the on3 instructions and it says to use some sealant in the connections before tightening the vbands, and i believe 08nastygt didnt use any at first and thus the leaks. Im just going to pick up some high-temp cooper sealant/gasket maker at advanced autos for a few bucks. And see how it works out.

I don't believe in encouraging large scale importing of foreign goods or this free trade/global economy shit but since it has been crammed down my throat, I figure "if you can't beat 'em join 'em."

I keep looking at all the options... and I like how Powerhouse / pipeline 's turbo piping stays above the A-arms... it looks much cleaner underneath. Does anybody know if you can buy just the piping for that kit?

Also, it looks like the PH kit has the MAF setup as a suck thru, is that right? anybody have thoughts on this? I would think you'd want it after the intercooler, but I'm not clear on how the PH is setup either...

Stay on topic big dog, if you want to ask a question about another kit then please post it in another thread.

Update:

Fixed the boost leaks i found, once again not the kit's fault, it was mine. Made a boost leak tester, pressurized the system, and found two leaks: One near the intercooler, which was the big one, and another between the CMCV plate and intake. Considering this was a "budget build" for me, I made my own CMCV delete's by pulling the butterflys out and plugging all the holes. I guess I had some filler that i used to plug the holes run down the side of the plate and build up where the gasket sits. Fixed.

I'll be working on the exhaust leaks next, and will keep you guys updated on what is causing them. Im sure its something I did, or didn't do rather, than the actual piping or anything like that. I just havent had the time or motivation to get the thing done.

Alittle update on the kit. So I have put about 1,000 miles on the car to date and still no problems. I haven't had anymore exhaust leaks comeback and everything still looks great. I think once I get teh clutch I'm going to do the 10psi spring to see what power it makes and finish off the year with it. Its def. fun makes full boost at about 3,200 and starts making boost at about 2,900. I couldn't be happier with the money I have spent on this kit. Hopefully I'll make it to the track tuesday to see what I can get out of it. I'll be on stock 18's so really I just want to see what it traps to get a idea of the potential it has with a good set of tires on it. Just figured I'd let everyone know though that everything is still all good.

By the end of this month I'll have almost enough saved up for this kit (although I was planning on going n/a). The only problem is that my car is my dd, so I would only feel comfortable making a meager (compared to some of you on here) amount of power. I'm figuring only going for around 400whp. From what I was planning to go with n/a, the modifications would have netted me around 350ish whp but would cost probably the same as using this kit. I like the ability to grow with this kit though, I'm thinking I could purchase a used short block and throw some rods and pistons in it as funds allow down the road. Making for a setup i can eventually reliably make a decent amount of hp with. I guess my questions is, how many of you guys are using boost with your dd and how many miles are on your cars, and at what hp level? It would be so much more peace of mind just to do a bunch of bolt-ons with cams. I wouldn't have to worry about breaking a rod due to something stupid like a waste gate not opening.

Edit: come to think it. I should just purchase one of the 3 million fox bodies out there for $500 dollars, build a motor, and boost that with the on3 performance kit. That way my mustang can stay a nice, reliable, and mildly modified dd.

Well I have put some pretty decent mileage on my car now, and one problem. The pipe off the driver side manifold likes to leak after a couple of days. So I think I'm going to have to have it welded in. Pretty soon I'm going to get meth and bump up the psi to 10 and see what I can achieve with it. I have takin it on a 400 mile trip with the air on and no problems with it. I do recommend checkin the oil filter relocator though because mine actually came loose. IDK how but I had sealant on it and it still back out and caused a little leak. I'm hopin the crappy weather stays away this week and I can see what type of numbers I can get at the track.

Did you change the bolts out to studs? I had a little iffy seal there as well and the longer threaded studs did the trick and tightened it up alot better.
