UPR Oil Separator Install Pix

Just finished my install of the UPR catch can also. I used a Billet Aeromotive bracket from Summit Racing for the install though. I didn't like the location with the included arm. Think I'm going to upgrade the hoses though, not really digging the clamps.

When I had my car tuned, I had it done so with a breather on just the passenger side valve cover, so the tune is spot on with that air being accounted for. So now I have two questions:

1. If I hook up my vented catch can (can in the middle with the two hoses going into the two valve covers and the manifold capped off), will it adjust my a/f ratio?

2. Being that it is vented, will I be fine using rubber hoses for a couple of weeks until I get the braided hoses, or do I need the braided hoses now?

Forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question, but what is the benefit from this part being installed? I am not familiar with what it is supposed to do for me.

The catch can / oil seperator helps to catch the oil vapors that travel through the PCV line so that it's not introduced into your engine's combustion. By stopping/reducing the oil vapors from reaching the cylinders it helps to keep the octane rating of the fuel up allowing for a cleaner burn.

So it does act kinda like a water separator in a compressed air system. Thanks.

Yup...some people actually use those as an oil seperator.
