New Hood is on

Dan Gurney-style Saleen hood is finally done and installed. Satin Black paint looks nice on the Tungsten Gray car. Still waiting on the hood pin brackets. Crappy cell pic.

IMO, one of nicest aftermarket hoods available. And with it being aluminum, it won't add unnecessary weight. Makes for a nice stealthy/clean look.

Too many of them already. The plan was to give it a real "retro" look. Similar to the late 60's/early 70's when someone bought a new hood and broke out the Krylon for a flat black hood finish. Plus....they only charged me $150 to do the hood like this. Black basecoat with a flattening agent in the clearcoat. Resists fingerprints and the "chalking" you get when wax hits it.

Which reminds me.....I was letting the car run last night (trying to run all that year old fuel out of the tank) when I decided to try the A/C. Despite sitting since March of '09 the temperature came down to 38 degrees within four minutes. I love this car.
