It would not surprise me one bit if the dreaded cam phasers are still fucking up. I mean they couldn't even get the 4.6 phasers right after how many revisions?

I am also interested now that i am noticing a whine noise at 3,000 rpm specially using the cruise control. I dont think that is what we are talking here because i dont know what a chirps sound is or crips.

I also wondered whether I had this issue.

However, I spoke with a Service Advisor about this notice and recently got some updated info. He says that the noise sounds like a giant cricket and cannot be mistaken for anything else -- if you have it, you'll know it. He got to listen to an audio file of a car with the problem. So, if you have any other mystery noises, that's not what this notice refers to. It is an engine related issue, not trans.

Ford believes the noise will go away with break-in, but is working on an oil additive to speed the process for those suffering from it.

This advisor is credible . . . but I can obviously not speak to the credibility of the info forwarded from Ford to him.

The phasers as such are at the front of the engine - any issues from them would similarly be coming from the front of the engine. Also, the phasers are of almost completely different design than the 4.6L phasers. I wouldn't be too concerned about them just yet.

Until more information is provided, or someone actually experiences the problem, something about a fart in the wind comes to mind in regards to this issue.

We can speculate and guess and throw out rediculous culprits, but without more info, it's all just guesses.

I think they are holding back all 2011 in attempt to sell the 2010s there is a dealer by me selling a 2010 v6 with like 10 miles in it for 17,900 so they are obviously having problems getting rid of them. Which I can see why go for a 2010 when the 2011s are far superior
