Has anyone installed an antenna for a CB radio?
Has anyone installed an antenna on an 2006 Ford Mustang?
Can you do it without buying a $70 antenna mount kit?
If I knew how, I would just fabricate a bracket to use the hood hinge bolts.

Any ideas?

Why would I be joking?
Because you think no one uses CB radios anymore?

Deep in the <3 of Texas!
Come to think of it, I would like a PA system in my car for the times when a soccer mom is yapping on the phone in the left lane going slow. ;)

"GET OFF THE PHONE AND DRIVE FUKTARD!" :roflmao:

Yeah that would kick ass.

The CB I have has a PA mode, but I don't have a speaker or anything yet.
I don't really care too much to have one.

My other car is a '74 Dodge Coronet, and I want to put some air horns on it. Like semi-truck air horns.

LOL! Yep, there's still something special about that one antenna on the trunk lid!

I'd go for the magnetic mount on the center of the top edge of the boot lid.

I have been contemplating putting one in mine too. I am one of those "Smokey and the Bandit" era children myself and those damn things are (were) very handy for spotting and reporting on Johnny Law.

I still call motorcycle cops, "Evel Knievels," as in, "Hey Bandit Hey Bandit, listen to this, that's Mr. Evel Knievel, and he has done snuck in my backdoor when I wasn't lookin..." Either that or, "Breaker 11, Breaker 11, I got a biiiiiiiggggggg bad bear story to tell y'all about up here at mile marker #....":beerdrink:

I don't know why I ain't got one yet!

Well, I wanted advice on where to mount a bracket, ideally utilizing the bolts holding the hood hinges or trunk hinges.
Thought someone might have done it.

I remember someone asking about this before. Here's one: http://mustangforums.com/forum/2005-2011-mustangs/424836-cb-radio-setup-pics-vid-awesome.html

There's other threads about that issue on that site too.

I used to have a ham radio antenna on my old 95 mustang. :)

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go take a 10-100.

that's better than a 10-200, lol

I was joking with my trans am buddies the other day. I told them I was going to put a CB antena on the back and a big thunder chicker decal in the hood.

Don't worry, they didnt like it either, lol
