I have some tubular LCAs and relocation brackets coming in tomorrow. They're bolt-in brackets but I do plan to weld them. Would I be okay running them at the track just bolted in tomorrow night, then get them welded next week?
I'm new to the street cars scene so I'm not sure what kind of force the brackets will see. I'm still running the stock 19" Pirellis. They will definitely get welded before I get DRs for the track.

So what do you think? Will I be safe to run them bolted for a few days or should I wait and install them when I can get them welded before hitting the track?

Thanks!

Just bolted in will be fine--I ran them just bolted in while running mid to high 10s. All though everyone would agree welding them would be best--so do that when you can--especially if you have big power planned in the future.

Yea, just get them welded asap. I'm assuming your car is lowered...how low? Post pics!

It's lowered 1.5" with UPR springs and adjustable panhard bar. I could honestly stand the look of it being just a hint lower but the quality of roads down south would make that a bad decision.

Yesterday I installed UMI Performance solid lower control arms and bolt-in relocation brackets and the improvement is nothing short of incredible. It doesn't bounce nearly as much driving down the road, it launches smoother both in normal driving and performance situations... and the overall feel is 10x more stable. For the $199 they're charging for their "anti wheel hop kit" it's a great investment. Soon as I have the extra cash laying around I'll be investing in their adjustable upper to complete the set.

Here are a couple pictures... the only mods so far are suspension. I figure 412hp is plenty to play around with, so I want to work on making sure I can plant it before I worry about making it more powerful. It's my first Mustang and the first car I've raced so I'm trying to make sure I do this right the first time.

Car looks excellent and I happy to hear you liked the UMI products.

Do you mind if I upload your pictures to our Facebook page under customer vehicles? The car is beautiful and your pictures are very good.

Thanks!

Nice looking car. Your on the right track with suspension mods. Hopefully, I'll see you at the track later in the fall.

Ryan- thanks! The "kit" was definitely complete (I'd read of other suppliers not including all the hardware) and the instructions were easy to follow. My only complaint was that once I mounted the lower brackets they were almost impossible to adjust into position. Almost like they were fitted perfectly before powdercoating added that little extra thickness. Good stuff in the end, though!

On the pictures... I'll have to check with the photographer to get her permission before I authorize distribution.

1fastpony- thanks for the props; like I said, this is my first time to bat. I've been a bench racer for quite some time and am known locally for a couple of my station wagon projects, but now it's a whole new ball game. Just taking advice from the guys who have been at it a while and learning everything I can as I go.

Ah..nice pics.. the oak and pine reminds me of home. I'm from Baton Rouge but now live in Austin, TX. A good friend of mine lives in Denham. I feel you regarding the roads. They're a mess in LA.

My BMR brackets have been bolted in and solid. I had the guy who rebuilt my rearend look at them and he said they're ok until running et's like psfracer (1.5 60' etc). You're ok with them bolted in...for now at least.

Ryan, she said she's fine with it if you want to post them on your page.

Pictures received and I added them to our Facebook page, thank you! I tried to reply back to let you know but the e-mail bounced, I tried twice?

Anyways thanks again and Happy Labor Day,
Ryan

Yeah. I'm not surprised it bounced back... Gmail is weird about stuff like that.

When will you guys release an upper control arm mount? I want to replace both the mount and control arm in one shot, but your site says the mount will not fit the '11+... so how long until you hook us up? I was wanting to take advantage of the 10% off this weekend but I'd rather order them both at the same time so they can go in together.

Car looks very nice! Those lowered the car a bit lower than the Pro Kit I have in mine. I need to get some LCA Brackets too. I know I'm missing some grip because of it.

Yours looks good, man. I was considering a base sterling 5.0, but decided to stick with the kona I ordered. Personally, I can't stand the Brembo wheels, but they definitely look best on the sterling in my opinion.

Sweet ride! Love that stance! Don't feel bad about the Kona. I used to not like it until I saw my buddy's Kona GT500 in person.

We should have them by the end of the year, the upper control arm is a different length as well. So the 2011+ will have a different part # for the upper control arm and possibly the upper mount. I think Ford was fixing the noise issues associated with the 05-10 models.

I will keep you posted. Thanks!

If I knew it would be that far out I'd have ordered those metal bushings to at least reduce the clunk. Oh, well- let us know when the upper equipment is ready to rock; I'm anxious to finish off the rear suspension!

The aluminum bushings we offer won't fit the 2011 mount. Ford corrected the clunk on the 2011 from what I have seen by increasing the bolt size, so the spacers won't be needed. We only had a 2011 on the rack for a few hours to confirm item fitment, we instantly noticed the longer upper control arm and larger bolt. So we will be working on new ones for the 2011, stay tuned :)

If they improved it I'd hate to see how badly they clunked before the '11 because mine is BAD with it. That's the entire reason I'm planning to swap the upper and bracket- I'm tired of all that racket between shifts.

I think most of the racket is coming from the u-joint/bearing assemble on the drive shaft where it mounts to the rear end. There is a lot of play in this area and adding aftermarket components may actually enhance this. We feel they enhance it because the aftermarket items eliminate the flex in the factory items, the flex allows give in the suspension which will absorb these noises. But by eliminating the flex you can make the slack more apparent. Crawl under your car and wiggle the driveshaft back and forth and see how much play you have (Make sure the car is in park or gear with the e-brake on) My 2010 has an awful amount of play in it and 2,000 miles after we purchased it the rear end began to whine... I think the carrier bearings are shot, we just haven't had time to take it back to the dealer yet..
