nah.... it has to look good too xD the side rocker moldings hardly weigh anything. Spare tire well is getting cut out when the fuel cell goes in.

Thanks guys keep em coming

Don't forget to pull the P/S pump and replace w/ an idler, if you're going to manual rack. That's gotta be worth a couple pounds.

My car weighed in at 3560 full tank, no driver last night at Firebird, lol

Yea that weight was included when I listed the manual rack.. don't need an idler you can just remove the pump without effecting anything

here's a cheap one that's more of a pain in the ass than anything:

grind down all the welds on your car, it'll look nice AND be lighter!

Have you considered replacing all the windows with plexiglass? lawnmower battery? single tube exhaust?

otherwise...fiberglass everything seems to work okay too.

in that case yeah, i'd shed all the interior trim, dash, rear seats, replace side windows with lexan sheets.
and since you're fitting a roll cage, i'd also look into cutting out the rear parcel shelf, replace it with a reinforcement bar.
also how about cutting out the spare wheel well in the trunk along with the EVAP crap?

If he goes with a fuel cell, he's going to need to make the rear seat back area and parcel shelf into a firewall.

Just about every drag racing organization will require that.

interior still has to stay stock looking so quater pannels, head liner, dash, and door skins have to stay...

You are basically building a NHRA Stock Eliminator roller. Except for the race seats.

The hard part is, you want it to be streetable too.

The heater/defroster system and wiring harness are important to streetability, but heavy.

Remove the center console, sound deadener, and install lightweight carpet first.

Oh, and titanium bolts? lol Get your wallet out...
