Sue the living piss outta that truck driver. That's just pure fucking negligence! Also, get tested for TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury. It can sneak up on you later in life too with a bruised brain of that magnitude. Seriously brother, get checked out for TBI. There are special scans they can do to see if you have lesions on your brain from the sudden impact. Your brain slammed first into the back of your skull, then when you went forward and stopped, it slammed into the front of your skull. This *could* be a life altering event for you and when you sue that stupid fucker, you can sue for much more if you have that shit documented.

I HATE negligent drivers. They should all be sued into oblivion.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to quit drag racing my 08 GT and buy a used GT500. I bought a 07 GT500 with 3,200 miles on it through an auction.

Last Friday, I was on the way to dyno tune the 07 GT500 and to watch the dyno results of BruceH's E85 conversion. Anyway, I was in the right lane on I-5 stuck in traffic going zero MPH. I looked in my mirror and saw a semi truck moving into my lane about 100' back but he was not slowing. Just before he hit me, and thinking the seat belt is not going to help me, I took it off and dove across the center console onto the passenger seat. All I remember was a horrific sound and then silence. According to the State Patrol, the semi driver was looking into his sleeper and unknowingly, changed lanes. He then hit me at over 70 MPH. Thankfully, he did not have a trailer. As his truck went over me, the back of the car was pushed into the back seat and the roof of my GT500 was torn off. I was jammed into the dash by the driver and passenger seats. The semi came to rest on the car in front of me. (I found out today the lady was killed). I was unconscious and air lifted to a hospital. Saturday night, I woke up with only cuts, bruises, bruised brain, 6 fractured ribs, and a fractured shoulder. I was released on Tuesday and spent the week in a somewhat confused and blurred reality. I guess that's normal when your brain meets your brain case with a force of 10G's. Anyway, it could have been worse. If I had kept my seat belt on and was seated in a upright position, I would have been cut in half.

I haven't been able to drive so I do not have pics of the GT500. And since there was a death, the two cars are being held until the investigation is completed. When I get them, I will post them.

Yesterday, the investigating officer told me that I cheated death. I just got done watching Final Destination while on pain meds. Now I'm jumping at shadows!

Glad to be back S197 people. And, WATCH THOSE MIRRORS!

wow sorry to hear about your car, and thats a tragedy about the lady whom past away. you're smarter then most you saved your ass, if i was in that situation i'm not sure i would have done the same i may have tried jumping out of the car and running perpendicular to the cars.

I go to see a specialist next week. They are going to run two different test to see what damage there may be. From the scans that were performed at the hospital, they believe everything is fine. I can tell you that I have never had a headache like this before. I guess that's to be expected because of the swelling. Short term memory has been affected also. I couldn't remember what I had for lunch. Again, they tell me this is normal.

The truck drivers insurance company keeps pestering me for a statement. I had my attorney call them today to let them know that they are the contact going forward. It will be interesting to see what the insurance company offers to settle.

So do you basically have a nasty concussion then? Sounds like the description for a concussion.

My girlfriend had similar issues after the accident we had in 08. For a couple weeks she would forget things here and there and she even forgot the whole first week she was in the hospital. She is fine now though. Best wishes to you, and normally I am not one for suing but I would sue the shit out of that guy because he has more responsibility than most drivers because he drives a big ass truck that hauls tons of weight everyday and lucky for you he was not hauling that day or I am afraid to say you wouldve been in a trash compactor between that truck and the car in front of you. His negligence almost cost you your life and it took the life of the lady in front of you.

Damn Marc that is just insane. Count your blessings. God was really looking out for you. What made you dive across the center console? Have a feeling or something that was the right move? That's just insane. Here's to a speedy recovery. I don't think I'd be trying to get off the pain meds that quick.

Damn I can't believe you survived such a horrendous wreck. Thank God you were aware of you environment and were able to throw yourself across the seats. I hope everything will turn out well with the new tests and you will recover fully.

I'm sure your attorney will tell you this but when you get the final settlement make sure it covers you for complications that you may develop in the future. The insurance companies always want you to sign a settlement that ends all future claims.

I am glad to hear you made it through this. One piece of advice I would like to give you, as I was involved in a major accident while riding a motorcycle and a person in a rush whiped me out, is listen to the Dr and Lawyer. You are paying both of them for their advise and care and they are trained to help you. Never make a statement unless approved by your Lawyer, not even to police or dr. When I was hit the jackhole only had $15,000 in insurance and the hospital bill was more than that. I had to go after my insurance. Good luck and get well soon.

Thanks for asking. All the test came back normal and the headaches are basically gone. There is no resolution regarding the loss of the car though. My attorney tells me it could take up 60 days.

Thanks Hemi. I made a big mistake by not leaving enough room between me and the car in front of me. It was a mistake that could have cost me everything. I was damn lucky. I find myself thinking if I could have done something different, maybe the lady in front of me would still be alive.

It's been a tough year. I was involved in a logging accident this summer and I ended up in the hopital, and I had to have my heart stopped and re-started 3 times due to a severe A/F issue. Thats atrial fibrillation not air/fuel. LOL! I guess it's not my time to go yet.

I tell you what, at 46, you don't heal very fast. Getting old is B.S.
